🚨 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗹 - 𝗟𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗺 𝗔𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗲 🚨

Our shelter is full of dogs and cats and with so many hungry mouths to feed and litter trays to clean, we run out of supplies in no time at all.

Right now, we urgently need:
🐶 Dog food nuts
🐱 Cat wet food
🐾 Cat dry nuts
🐾 Catsan Kitty litter

These essentials disappear quickly, and keeping our shelves stocked is a daily challenge. Every donation, big or small, makes a huge difference to the animals depending on us. 💙

This is turning into a pets r.i.p. page😭 No.11... the funny, crazy, cuddlily Kian of double bubble Kian & Troy, has joined his beloved brother & all their walkies friends gone lately, after a tumour got the better of him. Thinking of his moms & the hearts ache they're going through today🖤🌈

Gutted with this mornings news...just a month shy of his 17th birthday, poor ole Seb crossed the bridge. Sick for a while but just wouldn't give up & leave his beloved mom Catriona. We had some adventures down through the years, he will be sorely missed by all.

This Sunday the 24th we are hosting a Heritage Day at the Sanctuary with lots of traditional crafts, games, music, merch and much more! There will be no parking at the sanctuary this Sunday, but a shuttle bus will operate on a half hourly basis from McDermott's Bar and Restaurant, Castlebaldwin to the Sanctuary with the first bus departing from McDermotts at 11.20am and final bus departing at 3pm. Last bus departing the Sanctuary will be at 4pm.
It is free entry!! We hope to see all of you there 🫶❤️

💔𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗲 - 16 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗹𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 💔

Imagine giving your whole life to a family, only to spend your final days in a kennel.
That’s Minnie’s reality right now.

Minnie is a sweet 16-year-old terrier who was surrendered along with 5 dogs and 20 cats when her owner had to emigrate. She’s gentle, loving, and so deserving of comfort in her golden years.

She has stage 4 heart failure and needs daily medication, but she’s still bright, happy, and enjoying life. After having 9 teeth removed, Minnie is feeling much more comfortable, proof that she’s not ready to give up just yet.

But kennels are no place for an elderly dog. Lonely nights are not how Minnie’s story should end. What she needs is a warm bed, gentle hands, and someone who will love her for however long she has left, be it months or another year.

🐾 Minnie doesn’t have forever… but she deserves comfort, dignity, and love for the time she has.

It's been a full on first 2 weeks of August...from early morning house calls to new girl Aura & her cats... & a few cat fights🙈 From introducing Tobi to the crew to calling in the troops for much needed help. There's been a lot of exhausted furbabies & 1 very tired dog minder🤭but we are loving every minute of everyday🌞

If Death Takes Me First

If I die while my dog still lives, please - let them see my body. Let them press their nose to my still hand one last time, let them whimper their grief into my silent chest. They deserve to understand.

Dogs know death. They mourn. But disappearing without explanation? That's cruelty. That's abandonment. The confusion would haunt them - waiting, watching, wondering why I never came home.

I've known that ache of being left behind. I won't inflict it on the creature who loved me most purely. Let my death be real to them, so their love can find peace.

One final act of care: let them know you didn't choose to leave them.
