The Swinford Chats Podcast Swinford Tunes in as New Podcast Launches

A brand new community podcast is set to put Swinford in the spotlight.

“Swinford Chats” hosted by hotelier Cathal Kelly and communications freelancer Tommy Stenson, will bring you a mix of local news, interviews, and special performances from Swinford and Its surrounding areas In the first of its kind, “Swinford Chats” hosted by hotelier Cathal Kelly and communications freelancer Tommy Stenson, will bring you a mix of local news, interviews, and special performances

from those in Swinford and its surrounding areas. Speaking ahead of the official launch next week, Tommy says: ‘I can’t wait to begin recording – to hear people’s stories, to get more involved in the community and most importantly to bring some positivity into people’s lives in these difficult times.’

The podcast will feature an interview with a local guest each week followed by a link-up with a member of the Swinford diaspora in an aim to connect them with their home town or village. Cathal Kelly says: ‘I am very excited to be involved with this new podcast with Tommy. It will allow us to showcase the many wonderful attributes of our fantastic town and area and will also be a positive medium in linking Swinford people together wherever they may be located.’

There will be virtual challenges for the public to get involved with each week as well as the opportunity to give a ‘shout out’ to anyone here at home or abroad by sending your message to [email protected]

The Swinford Chats Podcast in association with The Gateway Hotel Swinford will be available to listen to on all streaming platforms including Spotify and Apple Podcasts with new episodes dropping every Thursday. ANNOUNCING Kelly's Walk 2 Rome
Hi Everyone
This Summer starting out on Sunday 16th June I will undertake the challenge of walking the ancient pilgrimage route from Canterbury (UK) to the Vatican City in Rome. Known as the Via Francigena this is a route of approximately 2200 kilometres through England, France, Switzerland and Italy.
I am undertaking this challenge to raise funds and awareness for 2 excellent charities close to my heart.
Children's Health Foundation Crumlin
and
Mayo Parkinson's Association
This adventure will be 100% self funded and all monies raised will go to the two charity organisations.
I am launching this walking adventure and accompanying blog this Friday night in The White House Pub in Swinford at 8pm. This will be a night of Chat and craic as I attempt to build awareness of my charity walk over the coming weeks prior to my departure in June. There will also be fantastic live music with Paraic McNeela.
I will also be holding an event in Dublin on Thursday 23 May in The Palace Bar on Fleet Street at 7pm (More details on this one after we enjoy our night in Swinford first)
I would be delighted to see as many people as I can at these events.
I will not be taking donations on these nights but promoting my website and blog which will have links to the relevant donations page.
I am looking forward to this walking adventure with a lot of nervous excitement and look forward to building my blog as I go along the route with tales of this adventure while also promoting awareness of the continuous work these charities undertake on a daily basis for so many people.
The website will also give people the opportunity to contact me to discuss joining me along this 2200 km route from Canterbury to Rome if interested in doing so.
