Commonsocietyissues

Commonsocietyissues CSI offers a platform for mental health stories. Giving voice to the survivors who overcame symptoms

At CommonSocietyIssues, we exist to break the stigma surrounding mental health and to create a society where seeking support is seen as a strength, not a weakness. Our mission is to educate, empower, and equip individuals and communities with the tools and knowledge they need to prioritise mental well-being. We believe that mental health is just as important as physical health, and yet millions su

ffer in silence due to fear, shame, or lack of access. That’s why we work across diverse communities, age groups, and industries to raise awareness and provide resources. Our aim is to build supportive environments where mental health is openly discussed and compassionately addressed. Our core belief is simple: mental health is everyone's
business—and we're here to lead that movement.

How do we remember lost loved ones without romanticizing su***de?

Because grief is deep, and love is everlasting — but we must honour lives lost without glorifying the pain that led to their passing.
Remembering someone thoughtfully can help survivors heal and prevent misunderstandings about su***de.

We asked this question on the streets —
and the answers were honest, reflective, and deeply human.

Behind every response was a reminder:
commemorating loved ones can be done with compassion, respect, and care — focusing on their life, their impact, and the love they left behind.

Conversations like this matter because awareness shapes how we support survivors and talk about su***de responsibly…
and how we remember can be part of healing, not harm.

What shouldn’t you say to someone grieving a su***de?

Because sometimes, the words we think will comfort…
can hurt more than we realise.

“Move on.”
“It was their choice.”
“You shouldn’t feel that way.”

We asked this question on the streets —
and the answers were honest, powerful, and deeply human.

Behind every story was a reminder:
grief isn’t linear, and there’s no “right” way to support someone.
Listening, being present, and offering compassion matters far more than perfect words.

Conversations like this matter because what we say — and what we don’t — shapes healing…
and awareness can prevent unintended harm.
