Watch out for Jaws and the Joker! Bernard Herrmann is in full horror mode with his scores for Psycho and Cape Fear. Songs from Wicked, the Wizard of Oz and Sweeney Todd and we'll meet with our favourite Disney baddies too, including Cruella de Vil in 101 Dalmatians and Ursula in The Little Mermaid. Coming up this afternoon, I mark the 40th anniversary of the iconic concert recording of Stephen Sondheim’s musical Follies featuring such songs as Broadway baby and Losing my Mind sung by a stellar cast. Classic film music from Gone with the Wind, The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad and The Bad and the Beautiful. Music by Irish composers Brian Byrne for Black’47, and Jim Sheridan’s In America scored by Gavin Friday and Maurice Seeezer. And, of course we remember the late great Robert Redford.
