2026 is shaping up very nicely indeed. Yesterday we received the raw, unmixed recording of the new Malokarpatan album, Baron Ferat. And, as we say here, "mudderajaysis!" Even in its unfinalised state, it glows! Riffs for days, character, style and endless Slovakian charm.

When is it coming I hear you ask! I can already see the demanding questions pile on. It'll be out when it is out. Too much of today's world is wishing time away. All in good time.

Seriously, Malokarpatan have outdone themselves on this one.

Abhorration is a new Norwegian death metal band from Kolbotn. The band pledges allegiance to old school death metal, the way we know it from classic bands such as Morbid Angel and Possessed. Their debut album “Demonolatry” was released in 2024 and received great reviews. Even though the band itself is new, these are seasoned players, with hardened veterans from bands such as Nekromantheon, Obliteration, Mabuse, Purple Hill Witch and Resonaut in the ranks. Fans of old school death metal definitely need to check out Abhorration.
