The remains of Tanzanian national Joshua Loitu Mollel have been returned to Israel and brought to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute for identification.

Mollel, 21, an agricultural intern, was kidnapped and murdered on October 7, 2023. He had only arrived in Israel a few weeks earlier, his first trip abroad, to study advanced agriculture at Kibbutz Nahal Oz and fulfill his dream of starting a farm back home in Tanzania.

He was a young man full of hope, curiosity, and a deep love for the land. He came to Israel to learn how to cultivate life, yet his own was stolen by senseless violence.

May his memory be a blessing.

The remains of Staff Sgt. Itay Chen have been returned to Israel and brought to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute for identification.

Chen, 19, a beloved son, brother, and friend, was born in the U.S. and grew up in Israel, in the city of Netanya. He served in the IDF’s 7th Armored Brigade on the morning of October 7, 2023, when Hamas terrorists stormed the Gaza border. Amid the chaos of battle, he was killed defending Israel, and his body was taken into Gaza.

His return brings heavy grief, but also the dignity of remembrance. We honor his life, courage, and love for this land and its people.

May his memory be a blessing.

The remains of Col. Asaf Hamami, Cpt. Omer Neutra, and Staff Sgt. Oz Daniel have been returned to Israel and brought to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute for identification.

Hamami, 40, a devoted husband and father from Kiryat Ono, was a commander who led from the front and lived with a deep responsibility. On October 7, he placed his young son in safe hands and ran toward danger to defend the communities under his care. He is remembered for his loyalty, humility, sharp mind, and the love he carried for his family and for the soldiers he called brothers.

Neutra, 21, a proud American-Israeli and lone soldier, was a natural leader whose warmth and optimism drew people to him. A platoon commander with the 7th Armored Brigade, he fought to protect the country he chose as his home. His courage, kindness, and unwavering sense of purpose reflect a life of conviction and a heart anchored in service.

Daniel, 19, a beloved son, brother, and friend from Kfar Saba, fought alongside his tank crew with bravery beyond his years. A gifted guitarist who believed in the power of music to bring light.

Their return brings profound sorrow, and yet the sacred dignity of bringing them home. We honor their lives, their devotion, and the love they carried for this land and its people.

May their memories be a blessing.

Cooper, 85, a founding member of Kibbutz Nir Oz, was a husband, father, grandfather, and gifted poet whose life’s work was rooted in the land and in people. A pioneer in every sense, he built community with his hands and strengthened it with his words and ideas. Taken from his home and held in Gaza, he is remembered for his integrity, creativity, and devotion to his family and kibbutz.

Baruch, 24, was a bright engineering student from Kibbutz Be’eri, a young man full of promise, kindness, and courage. In the chaos of October 7, he risked his safety to help his family, rushing back into danger out of love and loyalty. He was kidnapped from his home and killed in captivity, his life cut short long before his dreams could unfold.

Their return brings heavy grief, but also the dignity of remembrance.
We honor their lives, their courage, and their love for this land and its people.

May their memories be a blessing.

Adar, 38, deputy security coordinator of Kibbutz Nir Oz, was killed defending his community during the Hamas invasion. A devoted husband, father, and friend, he was remembered for his courage, love of nature, and loyalty to those he protected.

Zalmanovich, 85, a founding member of Kibbutz Nir Oz, was kidnapped from his home on October 7, 2023, and murdered in captivity. The body of Tal Haimi was returned to Israel and transferred to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute for identification.

Haimi , 41-years-old from Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak, was killed defending his home on October 7, 2023 . When Hamas terrorists stormed the kibbutz, Haimi, a member of the emergency response team, rushed out to protect his community. He never returned. He was more than a defender; he was a husband, a father, and a son of the kibbutz; a man who lived for his family and stood for his people.

May his memory be a blessing.

What a day in Israel. Twenty hostages came home, finally. Tears and joy as a nation exhaled after two long years. October 13, 2025, the day Israel smiled again. But joy here is never simple. Our soldiers paid the price. Gratitude and grief side by side.
