Since the beginning of June, 20 IDF soldiers have been killed in battles in the Gaza Strip. They fell in a series of fatal incidents, the vast majority of which did not involve clashes with terrorists. 15 IDF soldiers fell this month in battles in Khan Yunis or near the southern city, four were killed in battles in Jabaliya, and one fell in a clash in Shajaiyah.
June 2, 2025: Three Givati fighters killed in an IED explosion

June 2025: Sergeant (res.) Alon Perks was killed in an encounter in the northern Gaza Strip. Sergeant (res.) Alon Perks (27), a reserve soldier in the 6646th Reconnaissance Battalion of the 646th Paratrooper Brigade, was killed in an encounter in Shajaiyah in the northern Gaza Strip. Another reserve soldier from the battalion was seriously injured in the incident. The reserve force that was injured in the encounter is responsible for holding the posts in the new security zone, in the buffer zone between the border and the Shajaiyah neighborhood in eastern Gaza City.
June 6, 2025: Four soldiers killed in a building explosion near Khan Yunis
Major (res.) Chen Gross (33), a soldier in the Maglan unit of the commando formation, and three soldiers in the Yahalam unit, Sergeant Yoav Rever (19), Sergeant Tom Rothstein (23) and Sergeant Uri Yehonatan Cohen (20), were killed in a building collapse caused by a powerful explosion of an explosive device in Bnei Suheila, near Khan Yunis. Five other soldiers were injured in the incident, including a reserve officer in Maglan seriously and the rest moderately.
June 14, 2025: Lt. Col. (res.) Noam Shemesh was killed by anti-tank gunfire in Khan Yunis
Lt. Col. (res.) Noam Shemesh (21), a squad commander in the Kfir Brigade, was killed by anti-tank gunfire in Khan Yunis. Another soldier was slightly injured in the incident.
June 16, 2025: Capt. (res.) Tal Movshovitz and Sergeant Neve Leshem were killed by an IED explosion in two separate incidents in Khan
