It has been noticed and can be said that the number of articles in Kokborok magazines are less. Even though the articles are less in numbers, keeping on faith we are approaching ahead with this magazine called THE KOKLAM based only on articles looking forward to bring more interest on writers to write articles in more numbers. We have preferred the name THE KOKL
AM which is a collection of articles, as it is the name that identifies one; the magazine has touched History, Literature, Research on our Heritage, Community and our Culture. As it is a bilingual magazine written both in Kokborok and English even non Kokborok readers can enjoy this and also have a glimpse of our Culture, History, Language, Community, Ethnicity, thoughts, etc. That is why we appreciate both Kokborok and English language for writing, depending on their interest and comforts. Keeping all these in mind we bring this small magazine as an open platform for writers inviting them to pen down some of their shares in this magazine. Now that we have given our best try, to serve in front of readers it is upto you readers to decide. This is the first edition of the magazine and we hope to continue every year thus quoting few lines from the renowned writer Sudhanwa Debbarma’s poem “Himdi do”.
