Internal quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Maharaja Bir Bikram College, Agartala, Tripura in collaboration with College of Fisheries, Central Agricultural University, Lembucherra, Tripura (West) had organised an Awareness Programme on “Millets (Nutri-cereals)” on 9th July, 2024 at 12 noon in the Conference Hall.

The Programme got started with an introductory note by Dr. Barnali Dey, Co-ordinator, IQAC, MBB College, Agartala, where Dr. Dey have highlighted the importance of this awareness programme to stay healthy and also the significance and uniqueness behind organising this awareness programme in the College. Thereafter, the session was took by the Resource Person Dr. Vinodakumar, S. Naik, Assistant Professor (Agronomy), Multi Technology Testing Centre (MTC) and Vocational Training Centre (VTC), Central Agricultural University, Lembucherra, Tripura (West). In his deliberation Dr. Vinodakumar S. Naik dealt in detail the Health benefits and Nutritional Value of Millets in the present day context. After the technical session Dr. Surojit Sen Gupta, Associate Professor, Department of Sociology, MBB College, Agartala, proposed the vote of thanks. This programme was attended by the students from Biological Sciences and also number of faculty members were also present in the programme.

An awareness programme on Financial Wellness was organised by the Department of Sociology and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Maharaja Bir Bikram College, Agartala, Tripura in collaboration with Knowise Learning Academy, Delhi, on 6th July, 2024, at 3 PM in the Conference Hall.
The programme got started by felicitating the guests on the dias. This was followed by a welcome address by Ms. Tracy Darlong, Head, Department of Sociology, MBB College, Agartala. Following this an address was delivered by Sri Nani Gopal Nandi, Secretary, Teachers’ Council, MBB College, Agartala. Thereafter, the Resource Person Ms. Namrata Arora, Director, Knowise Learning Academy, Delhi, in her address highlighted the importance of this awareness programme in every field of life and also the significance and uniqueness behind organising this programme. She concluded her address by stating that, financial wellness is a relative measure of how well a person manages their financial life. Improving wellness is about practicing better money habits, setting goals and taking steps to achieve them, all with the aim of improving one’s overall quality of life. This was followed by an address from the chairperson of this programme, Dr. Nirmal Bhadra, Principal, MBB College, Agartala. After that Dr. Barnali Dey, Coordinator, IQAC, MBB College, Agartala, proposed the vote of thanks.
This Awareness Programme was attended by the students from across the departments along with good number of NSS Volunteers and also by the faculty members. The programme was compared by Dr. Surojit Sen Gupta, Associate Professor, Department of Sociology, MBB College, Agartala. The programme ended with distribution of sweet packets to all present.

An invitee lecture on “Intellectual Property Rights” was held on Friday, 7th June, 2024 organised at the behest of the Department of Botany in collaboration with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), MBB College, Agartala.The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Nirmal Bhadra, Principal, MBB College. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Barnali Dey, Coordinator, IQAC followed by an address by Sri Nani Gopal Nandi, Secretary, Teachers’ Council. Sri Partha Sarathi Adhya, Assistant Professor, Tripura Government Law College, Agartala was the Resource Person.The faculties and students present in the programme were immensely benefited from the resourceful lecture of the speaker. Awareness Programme on Menstrual Hygiene Day Organized by Geography Students Forum (GSF), Girls’ wing, MBB College
The Geography Students Forum (GSF), Girls' Wings, from the Department of Geography at MBB College, Agartala, organized an impactful awareness programme for girls on June 3, 2024, to mark World Menstrual Hygiene Day. The theme for this year was "Together for a # Period Friendly World."
Dr. Sudeshna Chakravarti, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Psychology, was the guest speaker for the event. She delivered an informative presentation on "Pre-Menstrual Syndrome & Pre-Menstrual Dysphoric Syndrome," followed by an engaging interactive session with the students. Dr. Chakravarti discussed the symptoms and management of PMS and PMD, emphasizing the importance of awareness and education.
In her talk, Dr. Chakravarti also highlighted the critical issue of 'Period Poverty' and stressed the necessity of menstrual hygiene. She advocated for more workshops and awareness programmes in Tripura to better educate girls on these vital topics.
Adding a personal touch to the event, handmade badges created by GSF Girl students were worn by attendees, including students, faculty members, and the guest speaker. This gesture symbolized solidarity and commitment to promoting menstrual hygiene.
The programme successfully provided a platform for open dialogue and education, aiming to break the stigma surrounding menstruation and promote better menstrual health practices among girls..
