Ukraine puts things into perspective after Russia starts his invasion . There's a lot of propaganda flying around about Russia's invasion of Ukraine . But there's one thing we can definitively say : there is no justification for Russia's invasion . The idea that Russia , with the massive military and nuclear arsenal that it has , needs to protect itself from Ukraine , is ridiculous . Barring the most extreme circumstances ( which are not anywhere close to being demonstrated in Ukraine ) , no nation has the right to invade another . War rarely ends up being liberatory in such situations of power asymmetry as we have between Russia and Ukraine .
Ukraine is a sovereign nation , with its own history . The people of Ukraine have made decisions , on multiple occasions in the past 30 years , to NOT be part of Russia . This should be respected . Russia has all the power in this situation , and therefore , all the power to stop the horrors that will ensue .
