उत्तर प्रदेश पॉवर कॉरपोरेशन प्रबंधन बिजली की व्यवस्था को निजी हाथों में देने की तैयारी कर रहा है. लगातार घाटे में चल रही प्रदेश की बिजली वितरण कंपनियों को फिर निजी हाथों में दिये जाने की तैयारी है. सोमवार को हुई बैठक में ये फैसला लिया गया है.नई व्यवस्था के तहत इसका चेयरमैन सरकार की ओर से होगा और प्रबंध निदेशक निजी क्षेत्र का व्यक्ति होगा. फिलहाल 50-50 के फ़ॉर्म्युले पर निजी कंपनियां काम करेंगी. निजीकरण की शुरुआत पूर्वांचल विद्युत वितरण निगम वाराणसी और दक्षिणांचल विद्युत वितरण निगम आगरा से की जाएगी.
