*27-Year-Old Man Killed In A Bear Attack In Kokernag Forests*

Srinagar, September 10: A nomadic man was killed after being attacked by a bear in the Kharpath Larno area of Kokernag forests in South Kashmir's Anantnag district on Wednesday.

Officials told that a man belonging to a nomadic family was attacked by a bear while grazing his cattle in the forest, resulting in his death on the spot.

The victim has been identified as Sadam Hussain Qurashi(27) son of Abdul Wahid Qurashi resident of Majalta Udhampur.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident.

AWJA Condoles the sad demise of Hamid Gull

Anantnag, Sept 10: The Anantnag Working Journalists Association (AWJA) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Hamid Gull, who breathed his last at SKIMS Soura after a brief illness.

Hamid Gull was a respected figure in the journalistic community, having served with ANI for several years. In recent times, he had been running his own media studio, HD Memories.

Members of AWJA paid heartfelt tributes to the departed soul , remembering him for his dedication, professionalism, and contribution to the field of journalism in South Kashmir. The Association extends deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul.

"May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah and give strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss," the AWJA statement read.

Shahabad Blood Donors and Wareqan Welfare Foundation organized a free langar for stranded drivers on the National Highway.
Chairman Irshad Ahmad Bhat said the initiative was taken as the highway has remained closed for 15 days, leaving drivers without food. “Drivers carry essential supplies for us; humanity comes first beyond religion. We will, InshaAllah, continue this langar till the highway reopens,” he added.
