J-K Speaker issues show-cause notice to PDP MLA Waheed Para over his social media post
SRINAGAR: (Sep 11) Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather has issued a show-cause notice to PDP MLA from Pulwama Waheed Para for his social media post claiming that the Assembly secretariat had endorsed the detention of AAP MLA Mehraj Malik under the Public Safety Act (PSA).

Taking note of Para's post on X following Malik's arrest on Monday, the Speaker on Wednesday issued the show-cause notice to the opposition MLA as to why breach of privilege or contempt proceedings not be initiated against him.

Rather directed Para to explain his position before the Speaker in person or in writing within seven days.

This will set to transform lives and bring lasting relief to the people of Marhama, Sethar,Panchpora, Waghama, halmullah pujteng, & various areas of Pulwama District.
While laying the foundation stone with allocation of ₹50 lakhs undr CDF for giving life to the irrigation system in the areas covering almost 7000 hectares of agriculture land,pertinently the portion of the canal was got collapsed during peak Paddy season.
The work would irrigate and will benefit various villages of Bijbehara constituency and various areas of Tral & Pulwama.

*Anantnag Police Crackdown on Narcotics: 95 Kgs of Contraband Seized*

Anantnag, 09 September 2025:
Acting on specific and reliable information, a police team from Police Station Aishmuqam, under the close supervision of SDPO Pahalgam, conducted a successful raid at a rented accommodation in Grendash area, currently occupied by Mukhtar Ahmed Boked, S/O Rafiq Ahmed, R/O Jammu (Presently at Grendash).

The raid, carried out in the presence of the Executive Magistrate, led to the seizure of 06 bags of narcotic substance (Fukki) — including 03 bags of grinded Fukki and 03 bags of Fukki pods, with a total weight of approximately 95 kilograms.

During the operation, one individual, identified as Parvez Ahmed Boked, S/O Bashir Ahmad Boked, R/O Ainobra, was apprehended on the spot. The primary suspect, Mukhtar Ahmed Boked, is currently absconding, and efforts are underway to track and apprehend him at the earliest.

In this connection, a case FIR No. 62/2025 under sections 8/15-29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Aishmuqam, and further investigation is in progress to unearth the entire network involved in the illegal trade.

Anantnag Police remains committed to its mission of making the district drug-free and ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens. Public cooperation remains vital in this fight against the menace of drugs.

MLA GA Mir Chairs Review Meeting on Post-Flood Situation and Development Works in Dooru Shahabad

Dooru, Sept 09:

Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Dooru Shahabad, Ghulam Ahmad Mir, today chaired a review meeting at Dak Bunglow Khannabal Anantnag to assess the post-flood situation and overall developmental scenario in his constituency.
Addressing the meeting, Mir directed the concerned officers and engineers to prepare a detailed flood damage report at the earliest. He stressed the need to immediately take up temporary restoration works while simultaneously preparing a comprehensive Detailed Project Report (DPR) for permanent restoration of damaged infrastructure and long-term measures to effectively deal with future flood situations.
“The need of the hour is to devise a proactive strategy to anticipate natural disasters and adopt preventive measures in advance,” Mir emphasized. He urged departments to work in close coordination to ensure timely relief, rehabilitation, and durable solutions for the affected population.
The meeting was attended by all concerned officers and engineers of the line departments, who briefed the MLA about the damages and ongoing restoration works.
