Vehicular Movement of LMVs Halted at Qazigund Due to Heavy Congestion: Officials

Qazigund, Sept 10: A traffic official on Wednesday said that the movement of Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) heading towards Jammu was temporarily halted at Qazigund after heavy congestion was reported along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.

The official said the traffic build-up was triggered due to road damage at Udhampur, where only a single lane is operational. To prevent further chaos and ensure smooth regulation of traffic, LMVs were stopped at Qazigund.

He added that vehicular movement will be allowed once the congestion eases on the other side. Meanwhile, commuters have been urged to cooperate with traffic authorities and plan their travel accordingly.
