Agradoot Durgatsab Samity Although, Baroari in nature, now this Puja has become a household event for all the residents of the locality.

This Puja was set up by few elderly residents of the area (PARA) some eight decades ago in the southern part of Kolkata to observe the greatest community festival of Bengal. The objective of this Puja is to impart the feeling of togetherness amongst the people of the locality apart from upholding the rich heritage of Bengal and observe the religious rituals as well. Our aim had always been social,

cultural and religious harmony – the greatest tradition of Bengal. In addition, our earnest endeavor has always been to stay connected with people and serve them according to our ability. Fighting for social causes, helping the underprivileged, serving the distressed have always been the major focus of our effort. We also strive hard to provide new aspirants the scope to display their ability in the field of performing art thus organizing cultural programs immediately after the Puja during our Bijaya Sammelani.
