*Youmi Shaban Observed at Kunan Bandipora*

Bandipora, August 26: Youmi Shaban was observed at Kunan Bagund, Bandipora, to commemorate the life, spiritual legacy and literary contribution of renowned Sufi poet and saint Muhammad Shaban.

The programme, organised by Bazm-e-Shaban Literary Forum under the patronage of Adbi Markaz Kamraz, was held in collaboration with the Department of Information and Public Relations, Bandipora, and J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.

The event featured literary and scholarly deliberations highlighting the enduring relevance of Sufi thought and the contribution of Sufi saints to Kashmir’s cultural and literary heritage.

The programme was followed by a Gram Lok session organised by Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, providing a platform to poets from different villages to showcase their creative works.

The programme was attended by President AMK J&K Mohammad Amin Bhat, Vice President Shakir Shafi, noted writer and scholar Mehtab Manzoor, Kashmir Philosophical Foundation Patron Mir Tariq and Sahitya Akademi member Majeed Majazi, besides scholars, writers, poets, devotees and admirers of Sufi literature.

*ADDC Bandipora Reviews Developmental Works, Undertakes Physical Verification of Languishing Projects in Gurez*

Bandipora, August 25: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Bandipora, Nazir Ahmad Mir, today undertook an extensive visit to Gurez Sub-Division to assess the progress of ongoing developmental works and conduct physical verification of languishing projects being executed in the area.

During the field visit, the ADDC carried out on-ground verification of various languishing projects and inspected other ongoing developmental works. He took detailed stock of their physical progress, quality of ex*****on and implementation status, besides interacting with the concerned field functionaries regarding issues affecting the pace of ex*****on.

The ADDC was accompanied by BDO Tulail, BDO Gurez, officials of PHE Sub-Division Gurez and other concerned officers and officials.

Later, the ADDC chaired a comprehensive review meeting of the Rural Development Department (RDD), Gurez Sub-Division, wherein scheme-wise progress of various developmental programmes was reviewed in detail. The meeting covered PRI, CDF, DDC, SBM and other RDD schemes, with particular focus on physical achievements, expenditure, progress of individual works and their implementation status.

All BDOs of Gurez Sub-Division, AEE R&B Gurez and other concerned officers and officials attended the meeting.

Given the limited working season in Gurez, the ADDC directed all concerned officers to accord top priority to the timely completion of developmental works and ensure optimum utilization of the available working window. He directed that all ongoing works be completed by the end of September, wherever feasible, while maintaining the prescribed quality standards.

The ADDC stressed the need for regular field-level monitoring, close inter-departmental coordination and prompt resolution of bottlenecks affecting project ex*****on. He directed the concerned officers to maintain sustained momentum in the implementation of developmental works and ensure adherence to approved timelines and quality parameters.

Emphasizing the importance of timely delivery of developmental benefits, the ADDC called upon all stakeholders to work in a coordinated manner so that the benefits of various government schemes and projects reach the people of Gurez at the earliest.

*Bandipora Clinches U-14 Girls Kabaddi Title as Provincial-Level Competition Concludes*

Bandipora, August 25: The Inter-District Provincial-Level U-14 Girls Kabaddi Competition, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Bandipora, concluded today at Higher Secondary School Nadihal, with District Bandipora emerging as the winner and District Anantnag securing the runner-up position.

The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from young athletes representing different districts, providing them a platform to showcase their sporting talent, teamwork, discipline and competitive spirit.

In the keenly contested final, District Bandipora displayed an impressive performance to secure the championship title, while District Anantnag finished as the runner-up.

The concluding ceremony was attended by District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Bandipora, Ab Majeed Rather besides officials and field staff of the department were also present on the occasion.

On the occasion, DYSSO Bandipora congratulated the winning team for their commendable performance and also lauded District Anantnag for putting up a strong fight to finish as runners-up. He encouraged all participating teams, particularly those who could not make it to the final, to remain focused, continue training with dedication and treat the experience gained from the championship as a stepping stone towards greater achievements. He emphasised that every match played, every challenge faced and every effort made on the field contributes to the growth and development of a young sportsperson.

While speaking on the occasion, the DYSSO Bandipora also expressed gratitude to the District Administration, District Information Officer Bandipora, Chief Medical Officer Bandipora, Principal HSS Nadihal, besides officials, field staff and other supporting staff for their valuable cooperation and contribution towards the smooth and successful conduct of the championship.

The Department of Youth Services and Sports congratulated the winning team, runners-up and all participating athletes, and appreciated their commitment towards sports and healthy competition.
