Karnataka Unboxed: The opposition, namely Congress or JDS, has a strong hold on the public, leaving BJP to earn their votes. For some, recent urban and rural developments have influenced the choice of their preferred political party and even votes. With a month-long ex*****on of campaigns and awareness, the first phase of elections ended with a voter turnout of almost 70% in the state. The Citizenship Amendment Act and the National Register of Citizens (CAA & NRC) have compelled the minority to cast their vote for this elections. This, paired with hateful comments by leaders that consider Hindus as superior, have brought about a sense of urgency to protect one's rights.
