"Before we get too excited by the new digital and A.I. revolutions, letโ€™s recognize that one thing hasnโ€™t changed โ€” our basic anxiety, our insecurity, our ignorance and our search for happiness. And so long as that exists, Buddhism has just as much to offer now as 2,600 years ago. In fact, because Buddhism is not bound by time, place, culture or geography, it can incorporate, adapt and speak to whatever the needs of any people and era are โ€” including those of our A.I. age." โ€” Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche

In this age of information overload, protecting your attention is guarding your heart. Consciously reducing your input may be more important than greedily collecting more teachings.

We all have the ability to love and be loved. When love comes, nothing can stop you. When fate comes to you, you have to learn to accept it. You may be sitting in Hong Kong now, but your lover is in Bolivia or Peru. Anything can happen. As I said before, this world is impermanent. Of course, love is a very, very beautiful thing, but when you look at your lover now, this may be the last time you meet in your life. If you have an open and tolerant mind, you will accept everything with tolerance, even if he likes to eat raw garlic, because you have the ability to accept everything; even if your lover falls in love with someone else the next day, you are fully prepared mentally. When you are mentally prepared and have the confidence to face everything, the other party becomes insecure. This is the best way to deal with it. Itโ€™s like going through a game. Basically, as long as we still have an obsession with feelings, something called โ€œloveโ€ will come. When love comes to you, just accept it. But there is no need to be too persistent, because love also means that you will make a lot of compromises. Even with the person you love the most, it is difficult for us to compromise completely. Even if you can easily say that I really love you and I am willing to surrender to you completely, can you really do this? So it eventually became a negotiation. Therefore, love is a very auspicious and blessed word, so I sincerely hope that everyone can find their own love. โ€” Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿชทโค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Š

โ€œThe cause of all these sufferings is our fundamental insecurity. We are always wondering whether we exist or not. Our ego, or rather our attachment to the idea of self, is completely insecure about its own existence. Our ego may seem strong but it is actually quite shaky. Of course, we do not ask such questions consciously, but we always have a subconscious feeling of insecurity about whether we exist.

We try to use things such as friends, money, position and power, and all the everyday things that we do, like watching television or going shopping, to somehow prove and confirm our existence. Try sitting alone in a house and doing absolutely nothing. Sooner or later your hands will reach for the remote control or the newspaper. We need to be occupied. We need to be busy. If we are not busy, we feel insecure.

But there is something very strange in all this. The ego searches constantly for distraction, and then the distraction itself becomes a problem. Instead of helping us to feel reassured, it actually increases our insecurity. We get obsessed with the distraction and it develops into another habit. Once it becomes a habit, it is difficult to get rid of. So in order to get rid of this new habit, we have to adopt yet another habit. This is how things go on and on.โ€ Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche.

Learning, reflection and meditation

Such is the strength of delusion and habitual tendencies that practicing Dharma might initially seem very hard; but these difficulties will gradually subside. Once you have understood the essential point of the teachings, you will experience no hardship or difficulty with the practice. Your efforts will bring you joy. It is like developing any skill - as you master the important points, it becomes progressively easier, you gain increasing confidence, and your capacity and endeavor keep on growing.

Whatever meditation or reflection you have done, it will never be wasted. The benefit it brings will be present in your mindstream at the time of your death, and will help you be reborn in a place where the Dharma flourishes, near an authentic spiritual teacher. Life after life, you will evolve from a mediocre into an average practitioner into an excellent one. The essence of learning is reflection, and the essence of reflection is meditation. As you go deeper into the meaning of the teachings, the wondrous qualities of the Dharma will become ever clearer, like the sun appearing ever brighter the higher you fly.

The sign that you have fully assimilated your learning of the Dharma is that you become peaceful by nature. The sign that you have assimilated your meditation is that you are free of obscuring emotions. As learning leads to reflection and reflection transforms into meditation, your eagerness for the deluded activities of this life will relax, and you will yearn for the Dharma instead.

Anything you do that is in accord with the Dharma, however small or trivial it may seem, will be beneficial. As the 'Sutra of the Wise and the Foolish' says:

Do not take lightly small good deeds,
Believing they can hardly help;
For drops of water one by one
In time can fill a giant pot.

To understand life, we donโ€™t need to go farโ€”just reflect deeply.

The hospital reminds us that nothing is more beautiful than health.
The prison reminds us that nothing is more precious than freedom.
The cemetery reminds us that nothing is permanentโ€”and that time is truly sacred.

Life is not meaninglessโ€”it is fragile, fleeting, and therefore priceless.

The ground we walk on today may one day become our resting place.
So donโ€™t delay your kindness.
Donโ€™t postpone your joy.
Donโ€™t take this moment for granted.

Live gently. Live truthfully. Live now.

Because tomorrow is never promised. ๐ŸŒฟ

In the teachings of Buddhism, this is understood through Dukkhaโ€”the subtle truth that all conditioned things are incomplete and ever-changing.
We spend much of our life searching for something that will finally satisfy usโ€”through people, achievements, or experiences. And yet, even the most beautiful moments pass, leaving behind a quiet sense of โ€œsomething missing.โ€
This is not a failure of life.
It is the nature of life.
When we deeply understand this, we stop demanding permanence from what is impermanent.
And in that moment, the heart relaxes.
What arises then is not excitement or intensity,
but a simple, steady contentmentโ€”
a peace that does not depend on things being perfect. Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse

99% of the people on this planet are lonely.

No matter how charming you are, how kind you are, or how friendly you are, it doesnโ€™t matter. You are lonely no matter what.

Even though you may be a person who likes to be lively, you are still lonely. Almost 99% of people on this planet are lonely.
John Lennon was lonely, BlackPink was lonely, Sadhguru was lonely, and I am lonely too.

We often hear that humans are social animals and that it is vital for us to interact with others. Social activities seem to be an essential part of our survival. Being exiled from society is almost equivalent to being sentenced to death.

However, the two most important events in life, birth and death, we have to face alone. Except for a very small number of twins who may be born at the same time, most people are alone during these two critical moments.

We donโ€™t even know whether twins can communicate with each other at birth. But what is certain is that most people are alone when they experience birth and death.

Whatโ€™s even more painful is that even if itโ€™s something seemingly simple, like the bottle of water in front of me, although we are looking at the same bottle of water at the same time, how I look at this bottle of water, what kind of water I see, is something you will never be able to experience.

The bottle of water I see, you can never see, we can only pretend to see the same bottle of water.
This is why there is actually no real basis for consensus between you and me. I have been talking, you have been listening, and then, you try to interpret what I said.

Our communication is an interaction based on assumptions. You listen to what I say, and then I assume that you understand what I say, basically, this is what we call communication.
