God’s love is constant
2022 is coming to an end, and while it may have been successful for some of us, it was difficult for others. As before, for some of us, it meant merely surviving. For others, it meant making new friends and exploring new prospects. If you are reading this, regardless of how the year 2022 turned out, there is still hope for the future for you as it says in Psalm 27:13 AMP - I would have despaired had I not believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
The Lord is good because of his boundless, enduring love for us, which cannot be broken by anything in the heavens or on earth..- Romans 8:38-39 AMP - For I am convinced [and continue to be convinced—beyond any doubt] that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present and threatening, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the [unlimited] love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Knowing that the Love of God is the only thing that never changes in our life, regardless of what is going on in our emotional, relational, spiritual, material, or physical lives, gives us a wonderful sense of assurance. God's love remains constant throughout the year and is unrelated to our actions, past actions, or future plans. It is not based on how our lives have turned out, how they are now, or how much we have accomplished. It is not based on our accomplishments, roles, authority, wealth, fame, or "good living." However, it is solely focused on him and his unique love nature. 1 John 4:8 AMP - for God is love. [He is the originator of love, and it is an enduring attribute of His nature.].
Since God is Love as written in 1 John 4:8 AMP.
If we replace the word Love with God in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 then it reads like this:
Love(God) endures with patience and serenity, love(God) is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious; love(God) does not brag and is not proud or arrogant. It(God) is not rude; it(God) is not self-seeking, it(God) is not provoked [nor overly sensitive and easily angered]; it(God) does not take into account a wrong endured. It(God) does not rejoice at injustice, but rejoices with the truth [when right and truth prevail]. Love(God) bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening].Love(God) never fails [it(God) never fades nor ends].
Human love is constrained, changes over time, varies depending on the situation, can completely end, and is reliant on how we relate to the other person. God's love, however, is based on who God is, and He Is Love. Even the love of others can be taken from us today, but there is one thing that will never change: the love of God.
Lamentation 3:22-33 MSG says:
God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out,
his merciful love couldn’t have dried up.
They’re created new every morning.
How great your faithfulness!
I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over).
He’s all I’ve got left.
God proves to be good to the man who passionately waits,
to the woman who diligently seeks.
It’s a good thing to quietly hope,
quietly hope for help from God.
It’s a good thing when you’re young
to stick it out through the hard times.
When life is heavy and hard to take,
go off by yourself. Enter the silence.
Bow in prayer. Don’t ask questions:
Wait for hope to appear.
Don’t run from trouble. Take it full-face.
The “worst” is never the worst.
Why? Because the Master won’t ever
walk out and fail to return.
If he works severely, he also works tenderly.
His stockpiles of loyal love are immense.
He takes no pleasure in making life hard,
in throwing roadblocks in the way
Wherever you are right now, know that God loves you. The year 2022 is coming to a conclusion, and as we head into 2023, even though we may have lost some things and gained others, the unwavering Love of God remains the one constant in our lives. You may depend on it right now and always.
