UAE SHIFTS IRAN STRATEGY TO AVOID ESCALATION

The UAE has adopted a more cautious approach toward Tehran, with diplomatic engagement coinciding with a sharp decline in attacks on UAE non-military infrastructure during the ceasefire period.

But the relationship remains fragile. Abu Dhabi has since suspended trade with Iran and is demanding concrete, verifiable security guarantees for future engagement.

US PANEL URGES TRUMP TO REVOKE MOHAN BHAGWAT’S VISA

The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) has urged the Trump administration to revoke RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s U.S. visa and bar him from future entry.

USCIRF cited allegations involving religious-freedom violations by RSS-linked groups. India has rejected the allegations, calling the commission biased and lacking credibility.

Important: This is a recommendation by USCIRF — Bhagwat’s visa has not been reported as revoked by the U.S. government.

NEPAL FLASH FLOODS | DEVASTATING FLOODS HIT THE HIMALAYAN REGION!!!

🔴🔴 Nepal is facing one of its worst flood disasters in recent years after a massive flash flood swept through communities along the Nepal–Tibet border and downstream areas.

• The death toll in Nepal has reached 270, according to Nepal Police, after dozens of additional bodies were recovered during ongoing search operations.

• India’s Ministry of External Affairs has said 288 Indian nationals remain uncontactable following the disaster, prompting urgent efforts to trace and assist affected Indians.

• The disaster has left hundreds of people missing, including residents, security personnel, domestic tourists and foreign visitors. Nepal’s latest official figures put the number of people out of contact at 826.

• The floods caused extensive destruction to homes, roads, bridges and other infrastructure, making rescue operations particularly difficult in the mountainous terrain.

• Initial reports suggested an earthquake, but later geological analysis indicated that the disaster was linked to a glacial collapse and debris flow, sending a huge surge of water, mud and rock downstream.

• Rescue teams, including the Nepali Army, have been using helicopters to reach isolated areas and evacuate survivors as ground access remains severely damaged.

• The disaster has also affected international tourists and pilgrims travelling toward the Mount Kailash region, with nationals from several countries among those reported missing.

• Authorities continue to search rivers, damaged settlements and downstream areas while families across Nepal, India and other countries await information about missing relatives.

The situation remains fluid, and casualty and missing-person figures may change as rescue teams reach previously inaccessible areas and authorities verify reports.

US-Iran Tensions & Middle East.
🔴🔴Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani is traveling to Tehran as part of renewed diplomatic efforts between Iran and the United States.

đź”´đź”´The visit aims to support de-escalation, revive dialogue and create conditions for renewed negotiations between Washington and Tehran.

đź”´đź”´A major focus is the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial global energy route. Qatar is seeking the restoration of freedom of navigation and a return to conditions before the February 28 conflict.

đź”´đź”´Qatar has maintained channels with both Iran and the U.S. and previously played a role in securing a June ceasefire, giving Doha an important position in regional mediation.

•The diplomatic push comes as Washington intensifies economic pressure and sanctions on Tehran, while negotiations remain stalled.

•The Strait of Hormuz remains a critical concern for global energy markets, with oil flows reportedly falling sharply from pre-war levels amid the disruption.

The Tehran visit could become an important step toward reducing tensions, restoring maritime movement and reopening a diplomatic channel between Iran and the U.S. However, major disagreements over sanctions, the conflict and control of the Strait of Hormuz remain unresolved.

ICELAND EDGES TOWARD EU TALKS AHEAD OF REFERENDUM
A new poll shows 51.3% of Icelanders support restarting negotiations to join the European Union, while 48.7% oppose the move.
The referendum on August 29 will decide whether Iceland should reopen accession talks with Brussels — not whether the country joins the EU. Any eventual membership deal would require a second referendum.
The narrow polling margin makes the vote a closely watched decision for Iceland and the wider European Union.

52% OF ISRAELIS WORRY ABOUT REVEALING THEIR NATIONALITY ABROAD

A new survey finds that 52% of Israelis are concerned about identifying themselves as Israeli while traveling overseas.

Since October 7, 41% say they have changed their travel behavior — including altering destinations, canceling trips, or avoiding certain activities.

The findings point to growing anxiety among Israelis about antisemitism, hostility and personal safety abroad.

The survey also highlights concerns over Israel’s international messaging, with only 23% saying Israel effectively communicates its policies to the world.

For many Israelis, the experience of traveling beyond the country’s borders is increasingly shaped by questions of identity, safety and how they are perceived.

đź”´đź”´Later reports said CIA Director John Ratcliffe was aboard the aircraft for undisclosed meetings in Moscow, though details of the visit remain limited.

đź”´đź”´The unusual flight comes as U.S.-Russia discussions over the Ukraine war remain closely watched, adding to speculation about the purpose of the visit.

• A U.S. military transport aircraft making such a rare trip to Moscow has drawn significant international attention because of the ongoing geopolitical tensions between Washington and Moscow.

📌 The exact nature of the meetings and the mission remains subject to official confirmation.
