The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) on July 25 launched the Veer Parivaar Sahayata Yojana 2025, a structured legal aid initiative for members of the armed forces and their families, at a regional conference in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.

"Our soldiers stand vigilant at the nation’s borders; we in the legal fraternity will stand equally vigilant in protecting their rights and their welfare at home," Justice Kant said.

The Karnataka High Court recently imposed exemplary costs of ₹10 lakhs on five litigants who had sought to challenge a land acquisition that began in 1986, on finding that they suppressed fact that they had failed in eight earlier rounds of litigation in the same matter.

"This forms the ninth petition on the same cause of action, after the dismissal of eight rounds of litigation, all of which are suppressed," the Court found.
