It’s a quiet long weekend, and instead of stepping out, I decided to stay home and keep it simple. My day started with a small errand and then some easy cooking — Cherupayar curry, egg curry, and quick 2-minute Idiyappam. Nothing fancy, just slow, comforting food and a relaxed Saturday routine. 🌿

Since I don’t have many traditional utensils here, I make do with what I have — and honestly, my Instant Pot has been a total game-changer! It saves so much time, especially for Kerala red matta rice.

Some days start heavy — with news that shakes you a bit, especially when you’re far from home and can’t do much except be there emotionally. But somehow, life balances itself out. After work, I had a meeting in the south of Regina and found a quiet hour before it — stopped by an Indian restaurant for a hot cup of tea and finally gave in to my dosa craving. That simple moment of warmth, followed by bumping into a friend and her little one, reminded me that even on hard days, small joys find their way back. 💛

Less than ten minutes from Saskatoon, tucked away in the peaceful hamlet of Furdale, we found the perfect glamping escape — The Dales Airstream camper. Surrounded by five acres of calm, this stay had everything we could ask for: a cozy interior, patio lights, a fireplace, and a full BBQ setup.

Our amazing host, Paul, made it even more special with his thoughtful touches — from a bottle of wine and freshly baked bread to a surprise cupcake for the birthday! 🧁

Trying to stay calm while my space is under maintenance, but honestly, it’s hard to feel settled when your comfort zone is in pieces. Here’s to hoping things get back to normal soon 🫠✨

Day 280 of 365- 2025~ A Day Off, Closet Declutter & A Cozy Kerala Dinner 🍛

Took a well-deserved day off today — no alarms, no rush! Just a slow morning with tea, Indian snacks, and a whole lot of cleaning. We finally cleared out our closet and donated clothes, decor, and paintings to Value Village — such a great way to declutter and give things a second life.

A quick stop at Dollarama (and of course, spent more than a dollar 😅), tried some nostalgic candies that reminded me of home, and ended the day cooking and sipping on Prashant’s Kerala-style Naranga Vellam. Wrapped it all up with a proper Kerala dinner — choru, pulissery, vendakka mezhukkupuratti, fish fry, and papadam. Don’t drool… I’m having it now! 😋

Woke up early — like 5:30 a.m. early — and decided to do something for myself today. Took a peaceful drive out of Regina and caught one of the most beautiful sunrises I’ve seen in a while. Spotted deer, birds, and just enjoyed nature doing its thing. Later, caught up on sleep, then ended the day with Prashant and our friends over some delicious Thai food. Simple moments, but they made the day feel so full. 💛

Are you Team Walmart or Team Superstore? 👀
I usually go to Walmart because I know the aisles like the back of my hand. But lately, I’ve been visiting Superstore more often—though that $1 loonie for the trolley always gets me stuck! 🤦🏽‍♀️ Still, I can’t deny their meat selection and prices are really good.
So tell me—what’s your go-to store? Or do you have another favorite spot besides these two? For me, Indian groceries are a must! 🌶️🥘
