The arrest was shocking. A young man accused of tricking somebody into a relationship on a false promise of marriage.
Yet police arrested his brother instead, for no apparent reason.
The police themselves couldn’t explain why, other than he was vaguely connected and arrest is easy.
Nagaprasanna pointed out that this arrest is an unfair stain that young man must carry with him forever.
The Rs 1 lakh fine issued isn’t enough to wash away that stain, but it’s a start, as is the full enquiry.
Why does the world find it so easy to blame innocent men for everything?
