OUR THREE CORE DEMANDS — GOVERNMENT MUST ACT
The future of thousands of Medical Assistant/Pharmacist students and diploma holders in J&K cannot be left in uncertainty. The Government must address these issues with a clear and permanent policy.
1️⃣ ELIGIBILITY FOR JUNIOR PHARMACIST RECRUITMENT
Medical Assistant/Pharmacist diploma holders who fulfill the prescribed registration and qualification requirements should be made eligible for Junior Pharmacist posts, so that their education does not become a dead end.
2️⃣ PCI REGISTRATION FOR UNREGISTERED STUDENTS
Students who completed the recognized Medical Assistant/Pharmacist course but could not obtain registration should be provided a fair opportunity for registration with the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), subject to applicable rules and verification.
3️⃣ BRING MEDICAL ASSISTANT PHARMACIST AT PAR WITH D.PHARMACY & STOP FURTHER ADMISSIONS
The Government should take a clear policy decision to bring the Medical Assistant Pharmacist qualification at par with D.Pharm wherever legally permissible, while simultaneously stopping fresh admissions to the course in all Government Medical Colleges and private institutions if the qualification has no sustainable employment pathway.
