In the corridors of BMS Arampora Sopore, teacher Ms. Sufeena Bano is reshaping education with compassion and innovation. Known for uplifting underprivileged students, she has become a source of hope for families struggling with poverty.

Ms. Sufeena believes in the power of positive reinforcement. “Every student deserves recognition for their efforts, no matter how small,” she says. Her classroom encourages confidence through smiles, praise, and applause. She also looks after her students’ needs, often helping them with stationery, uniforms, and school bags.

“SHEro Mother” Initiative
Her project “SHEro Mother” supports mothers of students with kitchen essentials like flour and oil while teaching them literacy and numeracy. This, she believes, strengthens families and builds a culture of learning at home. The Head of Institution praises her: “Her dedication and initiatives are transforming our community.”

Ms. Sufeena has received several accolades, including the UT Level Best Teacher Award 2023. Her innovative paper “G-Book” gained national attention, while her research on “LEOPA” was appreciated for aligning local project-based learning with sustainable development goals.
