Kashmir witnessed a picturesque transformation on Tuesday as fresh snowfall blanketed large parts of the Valley, bringing cheer to locals and tourists alike. The season’s latest snowfall covered rooftops, trees, and roads in a thick white layer, turning the region into a winter wonderland.
Residents were seen stepping out early to enjoy the snow, with children playing, building snowmen, and engaging in snowball fights in neighborhoods across Srinagar, Gulmarg, and other parts of the Valley. Many locals captured the scenic views on their phones, while tourists flocked to popular spots to experience the snowfall.
“This snowfall has brought happiness after a long dry spell. It feels refreshing and beautiful,” said a local resident in Srinagar.
While the snowfall caused minor disruptions to traffic in some areas, authorities said roads are being cleared and essential services remain largely unaffected. The Meteorological Department has predicted intermittent snowfall in higher reaches over the next 24 hours.
The fresh snow is also expected to benefit agriculture and boost winter tourism, especially in famous destinations like Gulmarg and Pahalgam, where hotels reported an increase in visitors.
Overall, the snowfall has added to the Valley’s charm, spreading joy and excitement among locals who welcomed the winter spell with smiles and celebration. ❄️
