State Bank of India to hire 18,000 employees by March 2026

• State Bank of India plans to hire approximately 3,500 officers over the next five months as part of a larger recruitment drive to bolster operations and service delivery nationwide.
• The bank has already recruited 505 Probationary Officers in June and selected around 1,300 specialist officers for IT and cybersecurity roles, with 3,000 circle-based officer positions expected to be filled by the end of the current financial year.
• SBI Chairman C.S. Setty announced earlier this year that total recruitment across all categories would reach approximately 18,000, including 13,500 clerical positions and the remaining in probationary and locally-based officer roles.
• The bank is implementing a gender diversity strategy aiming to increase women’s representation to 30 percent within five years, up from the current 27 percent of its 2.4 lakh-strong workforce.
• SBI has launched the “Empower Her” initiative and other women-centric programs including creche allowances, family connect programs, and specialized training for employees returning from maternity or extended leave.

• Zerodha, India’s largest stockbroker by revenue, will launch US stock investment capabilities by next quarter, CEO Nithin Kamath announced during an Ask Me Anything session on YouTube.
• The Bengaluru-based discount broker will leverage the GIFT City regulatory framework to provide the service, with CTO Kailash Nadh stating they have received regulatory clarity and are building a seamless user experience.
• The announcement comes as Zerodha faces its first revenue and profit decline in over a decade, with FY25 figures dropping 15% to Rs 8,500 crore in revenue and Rs 4,200 crore in net profit due to regulatory changes affecting futures and options trading.
• Zerodha has notably lagged behind competitors such as Angel One, INDmoney, JM Financial, Axis Direct, HDFC Securities, Kuvera, and 5paisa, which already offer US stock investment facilities.
• This marks Zerodha’s second attempt at US stock trading after a 2020 initiative was derailed by COVID-19 disruptions and regulatory complexities around remittance processes.

• China and the United States reached a preliminary framework deal on Sunday after two days of intensive trade talks in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, signaling a potential de-escalation in their ongoing trade war ahead of the November 10 expiration of a temporary tariff truce.
• Chinese trade negotiator Li Chenggang announced that economic officials achieved a “preliminary consensus” covering key issues including rare earth export controls, extending the trade truce, fentanyl-related tariffs, bilateral trade expansion, and port fees.
• US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer described the discussions as “constructive” and said negotiators were “moving towards the final details” of an agreement that Presidents Donald Trump and Xi Jinping can review together.
• The breakthrough follows weeks of escalating tensions after China imposed sweeping rare earth export controls earlier this month, which prompted Trump to threaten 157% additional tariffs on Chinese imports if no deal was reached.
• The preliminary agreement sets the stage for a crucial meeting between Trump and Xi scheduled for Thursday in South Korea during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, where leaders will decide whether to finalize the deal.

• The Nifty 50 closed at 25,795.15 on Friday, ending a six-day winning streak but maintaining a bullish structure with support near 25,500 and resistance around 26,200 as it approaches all-time highs.
• Lower-than-expected US inflation data has reinforced expectations for a 25 basis point Federal Reserve rate cut at the October 28-29 meeting, with markets pricing in a 97% probability that would bring rates to the 3.75-4% range.
• Foreign institutional investors have returned to Indian markets in October, investing Rs 10,692 crore in primary markets through October 25 while total selling through exchanges stood at just Rs 3,363 crore, reversing months of heavy outflows.
• India recorded historic Diwali sales of Rs 6.05 lakh crore ($72.9 billion) in 2025, the highest-ever in the country’s trading history, signaling robust economic resilience and strong consumer confidence.
• Progress on the India-US trade deal negotiations and improving domestic earnings growth are among six key factors analysts believe could drive the Nifty 50 to challenge fresh all-time highs this week

Too many people spend their lives trying to please everyone — saying “yes” when they want to say “no,” shrinking their light to make others comfortable, and accepting less than they deserve.
But here’s the truth: strength often makes others uncomfortable. Confidence intimidates those who haven’t found theirs yet. And boundaries will always upset the people who benefited from you having none.
Don’t fear being the wolf. The wolf walks alone sometimes, but it never bows to be liked. It leads, protects, and moves with purpose.
Be kind, but not a pushover. Be humble, but never small.
Your power is not up for negotiation. 🐺

In essence, it means it’s better to be someone who stands their ground and commands respect (even if others dislike or fear them, like a wolf) than to be someone who’s easily taken advantage of or disrespected (like a donkey that everyone rides).
It’s a reminder that being assertive and maintaining your dignity can sometimes make you unpopular, but it’s far better than being submissive and losing your self-worth.
