ছেলের বিয়ের আগে আমার নিজের দিদিই বলল,
গোপা, চাকরি করা মেয়ের সাথে ছেলের বিয়ে একদম দিস না।চাকরি করা মেয়ে গুলো একদম ভালো হয় না। তুই কি ভাবছিস ওই মেয়ে সংসার করবে? উঁহু। ওই সাজগোজ করে বেড়াবে, কোমর দুলিয়ে দুলিয়ে অফিস যাবে, বর থাকতেও অফিসে বসে অন্য ছেলের সাথে প্রেম করবে।

ভাবলাম হতেও পারে। আমার দিদি তো, তাই মুখের ওপর কিছু বললাম না। কথাটা শুনে নিজের মধ্যেই রেখে দিলাম। ছেলের বিয়ে কিন্তু চাকরি করা মেয়ের সাথেই দিলাম। আমার বিশ্বাস হয় না চাকরি করা মেয়েরা খারাপ হয়। যদি হয় তাহলে নিজের চোখেই না হয় দেখব। ছেলের বিয়েতে এসে ওই দিদিই বলল,
