An Indian Army soldier posted along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir has appealed for help through a viral video, alleging that his family is being harassed over a land and house dispute back home in Uttar Pradesh's Deoria. The soldier, identified as Veer Bahadur Singh, said he is left wondering whether he should focus on protecting the country or worry about protecting his own family. Singh, a resident of Churia village under Lar police station, alleged that relatives were attempting to take control of a house and land belonging to his family. In an earlier video from June, he had also accused local police and administration of not acting fairly despite complaints and appeals to authorities. In the latest video, Singh claimed that his elderly parents and pregnant younger sister were being troubled while he remained posted at the border. His emotional appeal went viral, following which Lar police visited the village and spoke to the parties involved. The dispute has also previously turned violent. Police said a case was registered following a clash on February 26, 2026, and a chargesheet has already been filed. Attempts to reach another settlement between the family members have reportedly failed, and the property dispute is currently before a court. ๐ฎ๐ณ
