Sri D V Sadananda Gowda is one among the major personalities in the Karnataka State Politics as well as Central Politics. His contribution towards state BJP has always been massive and regarding as a notable personalities.

Full Name & Background:
D V Devaragunda Venkappa Sadananda Gowda was born on 18 March 1953 in Mandekolu, present-day Karnataka, to Venkappa and Kamala Gowda. He earned a B.Sc. from St. Philomena’s College, Puttur, and an LL.B. from Vaikunta Baliga College of Law. Gowda began his career as a public prosecutor before entering politics.

Early Political Roots
D V Sadananda Gowda Gowda began his political career in the late 1970s with the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, which later became part of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He served as the Leader of BJP Yuva Morcha in Karnataka from 1983 to 1988 and held several positions within the party at the state and national levels.

State Legislator
Sadananda Gowda was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Puttur and served from 1994 to 2004, also holding the Deputy Leader of Opposition position. He participated in key committees in the Karnataka State Legislature and served as President of the Public Accounts Committee in 2003.

Chief Minister of Karnataka
Sadananda Gowda Sadananda Gowda was the 14th Chief Minister of Karnataka, serving from August 2011 to July 2012. His tenure focused on good governance and the introduction of the Sakaala scheme for timely delivery of public services. He was succeeded as Chief Minister by Jagadish Shettar.

National Leadership Roles
Sadananda Gowda was elected to the Lok Sabha from Mangalore in 2004, Udupi Chikmagalur in 2009, and Bangalore North in 2014 and 2019. In the Narendra Modi government, he served in several key ministerial roles:
- Minister of Railways (May–November 2014)
- Minister of Law & Justice (November 2014 – July 2016)
- Minister of Statistics & Programme Implementation (July 2016 – May 2019)
