GST Officer Arrested in ₹50,000 Bribe Case
UP Vigilance Establishment arrested Ambika, Deputy Commissioner of State GST, Sector-6, Varanasi, for allegedly accepting a ₹50,000 bribe. �

The complaint was filed by Ajay Kumar Maurya, director of Black Smith Industries Pvt. Ltd.
The businessman alleged that the officer demanded the money to process and settle his company’s pending GST assessment, linked to its February 2023 return.
On July 15, 2026, vigilance officials allegedly caught Ambika red-handed while accepting ₹50,000 in cash near a restaurant in Chetganj, Varanasi. �

A shocking twist has emerged in the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) Drug Inspector exam paper-leak case. Police allege that the man who initially acted as a whistleblower had himself helped obtain the leaked paper for his girlfriend. �

The Drug Inspector recruitment exam was held on March 22, 2026, with around 44,500 candidates competing for 154 Group-B posts.

During the investigation, police allegedly discovered that Gaurav himself was involved in obtaining the paper. He is now among six people arrested, including three MPSC employees. Rutuja has been issued a notice. �
