✨ "When Love Defeats the Lord Himself!" ✨
Every Kartik month in Puri, Lord Jagannath plays Kaudi Khela (Cowrie Game) with Devi Lakshmi.
Round after round, the Lord loses — his jewels, his ornaments, his pride... until nothing remains but himself.
In surrender, he offers his very being to Maa Lakshmi — a divine reminder that love and devotion conquer all. 💛

🎐 A game that’s not just play… it’s surrender, devotion, and eternal love.

Kumar Purnima’- Celebrating womanhood with delight

Kumar Purnima is one of the 13 festivals that is celebrated all over Odisha with great pomp and show. Sharad Purnima, also known as Kumar Purnima, is celebrated on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Ashwina, between October-November. This autumn festival is one of the most popular and important festivals of Odisha. Kumar or Kartikeya, the handsome Son of Shiva was born on this day. He also became the God of war. Young girls perform traditional rituals praying for a perfect life partner like Kumar or Kartikeya, Kumar Purnima marks the end of the month of Ashwini in Hindu calendar and the beginning of the month of Kartika. It also marks the beginning of the 11 days of Gajalaxmi Puja across the state.

Devi Durga’s Blessing: The Turning Point in the Ramayana

“Akal Bodhon – When Devotion Awakens the Divine.”

"Before the war with Ravana, Rama invoked Maa Durga in an untimely awakening—Akal Bodhon. With 108 blue lotuses, his devotion touched the divine. When the last lotus was hidden, he offered his own eye. Moved by his bhakti, the Goddess blessed him, leading to Ravana’s downfall. 🌺✨

✨🌸 Day 1 of Navratri – Shailaputri x Maa Taratarini 🌸✨

On this first day of Navratri, we honor Maa Shailaputri, the daughter of the mountains – a symbol of strength, grounding, and divine motherhood.

In Odisha, this form beautifully resonates with Maa Taratarini, the Adi Shakti of Tara Hill, revered as one of the oldest Shakti Peethas. Seated atop the serene hills with the Rushikulya river flowing below, Maa Taratarini embodies the same mountain-born power, stability, and grace as Shailaputri.

May her blessings give us strength and courage as we begin our Navratri journey. 🌺

On Biswakarma Puja, we remember the divine architect who carved not only temples and chariots but also gave form to Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra & Subhadra. In every tool, every craft, his spirit lives on. ✨

Lord Krishna is considered as the 8th incarnation of the Lord Vishnu. Here in Puri though Lord Jagannath is considered as the Lord Krishna, actually, He is the mother of all incarnations.

Shree Jagannath is Avatari from whom all the Avatars take birth, according to puranas.

Therefore, Lord Krishna is also born from Lord Jagannath. The special ritual at the 12th century shrine, continued the age-old tradition.

A day before the Janmashtami, when Lord Krishna takes birth, Lord Jagannath is considered as mata Devaki and offered the “Jeuda Bhog”, a medicinal package given to the pregnant women for safe and painless delivery of the child.

It is believed that ‘Jeuda Bhoga’ provides relief to the deity from labour pain. Later, Lord Jagannath considered as mata Devaki gives birth to Lord Krishna and from the next day, he himself as Krishna do all the rituals.
