Rtn Shyam Bihari Agrawal MPHF was born on 1st December in a highly reputed textile wholesale business family of Chapra Bihar. He did his schooling from Bisheshwar Seminary and graduated in commerce from Rajendra College, Chapra. He joined his family business of Agarwal Vastralaya and with his charmistic personality took the business to a greater height.

From his early childhood, Rtn. Shyam was very keenly concerned for various social problems and to fulfill his urge to work for social causes, he found Rotary as one of the strongest platform and joined Rotaract Club Of Chapra in the year 1998. Before taking over the charge as President of Rotaract Chapra in 2002 - '03, he served as the Director of Vocational Service, Sercretary in 2001-'02. At district level, Rtn. Shyam has served RID 3250 as Club Service Director, Chairman of Plus Polio and DRR in 2003 '04. During his term as a Rotaractor, he was awarded Best Secretary in 2001-'02, Best President in 2002-'03, Best couple in 2003 in South Asia DRR meet "Gyan Sagar" in Puri, Best Couple in 2004 in Dist. Conference "Sankalp" in Koderma. He was awarded with the prestigious Indira Gandhi Priyadarshani Award in 2004 in Delhi.

As a Rotarian, he has served as the Charter President of Rotary Saran in 2004-06 and was awarded as the Distinguished President in RID 3250. A very polite, humble and kind hearted person, Rtn. Shyam has served the district as Governor's Aide in 2006-'07, DRCC in 2007-'09, Chairman of The 4-way Test promotion in 2009-'10, Group coordinator (Gr. V) in 2010-'11, Chairman (North) Information Technology in 2011 '12 and in Rotary Saran as the Club Trainer. He also bagged the Best DRCC Award in 2007-'08 Rtn. Shyam has attended several Dist. Conferences, PETS, SETS and Dist. Assemblies and is an Arch Klumph Fellow too.

He has been elected as the Asst. Governor's "Partner in Service" for Interact, Rotaract, Inner Wheel and RCC for the Rotary year 2012-'13. Rtn. Shyam is also the District President of Janta Dal United Vyawasayik Prakosth of chapra, Saran..

He is happily married to Manju and the couple is blessed with 2daughters and 1 son.

Rtn. Shyam is visionary and has a passion to take the club and the District to great heights by new innovative projects by alleviating the pains of the people and helping them live better lives through service above self.

The self of the family who played an active role in the freedom movement. The grandson of Lakshmi Narayan Mishra, Shri Shambhu Kamlakar Mishra is well known as a social and literary personality. Even after completing 80 years of life, your social-literary activities are going on smoothly. Being a member of the third generation of the famous "Sohan family", you naturally got interested in studies and teaching. At the time of graduation, you were instrumental in establishing a school 'Bharti Vidya Mandir' as well as honorary teaching, further that school became the pride of the city. Later, worked as a teacher in the state-run 'Laxmi Narayan Brahmin Vidyalaya' established by his own family till his retirement. Presently you are a committee member of the same school. 'Sohan Vidya Mandiram' and 'Bharat Mishra Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya' are educational institutions established by your elder father Pt. Bharat Mishra (Sohan Baba).
Since childhood, you were also interested in sports. You have been a skilled player of football, volleyball, bridge, carrom etc. Received training for the security of the country in the civil military plan made after the 1962 Sino-War.
You have been associated with the world's largest social organization 'Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh' since your study period, you are making incomparable contribution as a worker of the Sangh. Your respected father Avadh Bihari Mishra was the worker who started the branch of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in Chhapra.
You always played a leading role in literary activities. Chhapra unit of Akhil Bhartiya Sahitya Parishad was established under your guidance. You are still actively associated with literary and cultural organizations like All India Hindi Literature Conference, All India Bhojpuri Conference, Priyanik, Bazm-e-Suhail, Panchmail, Kalavithi etc. He was associated with the city's famous 'Shri Tilak Library' since its inception.
You were honored by many institutions for your social, cultural and literary achievements. He has also been awarded as 'Ideal Teacher' by Rotary Club in 1996. For his special contribution in the field of literature, Priyanik, Bazm-e-Suhail etc. have received respect. Awarded with 'Saran Swabhiman Samman' in 2012 by leading newspaper group 'Dainik Jagran'.
