বাংলা মাকে যারা অপমান করে নিজের ক্ষুদ্র স্বার্থে তাদের কাছে আত্মসমর্পণ করিনি করবও না। করতে হলে বাংলার মানুষের চরণে আত্মসমর্পন করব। আত্মমর্যাদা বিসর্জন দিয়ে কখনও রাজনীতি করিনি, আমার বিশ্বাস আগামী দিনেও করব না। পবিত্র বাংলার মাটিকে অপবিত্র করার উদ্দেশ্যে একের পর এক মিথ্যাচার চালাচ্ছে বিজেপি। কিন্তু ওরা ভুলে গিয়েছে মানুষ আর ওদের মিথ্যা গ্রহণ করছে না উলটে ধিক্কার জানাচ্ছে। বাংলার মাটি অসম্মানিত করতে দেবো না, প্রয়োজনে প্রাণ দিয়ে রক্ষা করব। বাংলার সংস্কৃতি, পুজো ও উৎসব নিয়ে কত অপপ্রচার করলো, কী লাভ হল? আজ বিধানসভায় তথ্য-সহ প্রমাণ দিয়েছি যে, এই বাংলা সবার মিলনস্থল ও এই বাংলা রামকৃষ্ণ পরমহংসদেবের সর্বধর্ম সমন্বয়ের বাংলা। নারী-বিরোধী, তফশিলি জাতি-উপজাতি বিরোধী, রাজবংশী বিরোধী, সংখ্যালঘু বিরোধী সর্বোপরি জনজাতিবিরোধী নেতাদের দম্ভ, ঔদ্ধত্য চূর্ণ-বিচূর্ণ করছে এই বাংলা। তাই বাংলার কৃষ্টি, সংস্কৃতি ও ঐক্য বিনষ্ট করার যে প্রয়াস বহিরাগতরা দেখাচ্ছেন, তাঁদের এই কৌশল বারবার ব্যর্থ করব।

আজ মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষার্থীদের শুভেচ্ছা জানাতে কলকাতার ইউনাইটেড মিশনারি গার্লস হাইস্কুল পরীক্ষা কেন্দ্রে গিয়ে মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষার্থীদের অভিভাবকদের সঙ্গে কথাবার্তা আদান প্রদান করলাম। তাঁদের সন্তান-সহ সকল মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষার্থীর প্রতি আমার আন্তরিক শুভেচ্ছা ও শুভকামনা রইলো। শিক্ষার্থীদের পরীক্ষা কেমন হচ্ছে সেই বিষয়ে অবগত হলাম। পরীক্ষার ব্যবস্থাপনা নিয়ে বিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষক-শিক্ষিকাদের সঙ্গে বাক্যালাপ হয়। প্রাচীন এই বিদ্যালয়টির পরিকাঠামোর উন্নয়নের আশ্বাস দিয়েছি। আমাদের সরকার সর্বদা শিক্ষার প্রগতিতে সুনজর দিয়েছে। বর্তমান সময়ে শিক্ষার্থীদের পরীক্ষার ফলাফলের হার উল্লেখযোগ্যভাবে বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে, যা আগামী দিনে ছাত্রছাত্রীদের উচ্চশিক্ষায় সহযোগিতা করবে। আমার দৃঢ় বিশ্বাস প্রত্যেক শিক্ষার্থী একদিন রাজ্য তথা দেশের নাম উজ্জ্বল করবে। পরমেশ্বরের আশীর্বাদে সকলে তাদের সফলতার শিখরে পৌঁছে যাক।
