The 9th Annual Dolma Bum Prayer Ceremony concluded today with solemn devotion and spiritual grandeur at Yumchen Dolma Lhakhang, Lumla. The week-long sacred event, which began on October 22, drew hundreds of devotees from across the Mon region and beyond, all united in prayers for world peace, compassion, and universal well-being.

The final day was marked by special offerings, concluding rituals, and collective prayers led by senior monks of the monastery. The air was filled with the deep resonance of sacred chants and the rhythmic beating of ritual instruments, creating an atmosphere of profound reverence and serenity.

Monastery authorities expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants, donors, and volunteers for their unwavering support throughout the week. They emphasized that the success of this yearโ€™s Dolma Bum Prayer reaffirms the communityโ€™s deep-rooted faith and shared commitment to peace and harmony.

A senior monk remarked, โ€œAs we complete this sacred cycle, may the merit of these prayers benefit all beings and bring enduring peace to the world.โ€

The Dolma Bum traditionโ€”where one hundred thousand recitations of the Dolma (Tara) prayers are performedโ€”is considered a powerful act of compassion and healing. The conclusion of the ceremony symbolizes spiritual renewal and collective blessings for the entire region.

The event ended with the distribution of Tshog (blessed offerings) among the devotees, followed by a heartfelt closing dedication to peace, prosperity, and the protection of all sentient beings.

The Directorate of Secondary Education, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, has issued the official Movement Order and Letter of Authority for the stateโ€™s Under-14 Boys Taekwondo Team to participate in the 69th National School Games (Taekwondo) scheduled to be held from 28th to 30th October 2025 at Kohima, Nagaland.

According to the order, Shri Bhaben Rabha has been deputed as the Chef-de-Mission cm Manager, while Shri Baldas will accompany the team as Coach.

A total of nine players have been selected from various schools, including Lekhi Public School, St. Xavierโ€™s School, and Nehru Memorial GHSS, to represent Arunachal Pradesh in the national event.

The Directorate has directed all concerned schools to obtain consent from parents before departure and ensure the safe return of participants after the competition.

The Four-Day Krodi Kali Lakh Feast Offering entered its second day today at Sangchen Padma Woedling Gonpa, Kalaktang, continuing with the same devotion and reverence that marked its commencement on October 28.

Devotees and monks gathered early in the morning to participate in the sacred rituals and offerings dedicated to the deities for peace, harmony, and the well-being of all sentient beings. The atmosphere of the monastery remained deeply spiritual, resonating with the chants of prayers, ritual music, and the burning of incense.

Senior monks of the monastery led the dayโ€™s prayer sessions, performing traditional offering rituals (Chod) and recitations of sacred texts, invoking blessings for longevity, prosperity, and purification.

The ceremony, which will continue until October 31, 2025, will culminate with the Sacred Eight Guru Manifestation Dance and the Long Life Empowerment Ceremony, marking the spiritual climax of the four-day observance.

Devotees expressed heartfelt joy and gratitude for being part of the sacred event, which holds profound significance in Buddhist spiritual tradition.

As part of the 52nd Nyethrii-Dow Celebration 2025, the organizing committee has announced the 1st Edition of the Football Tournament in Loving Memory of Lt. Netom Sidisow. The tournament aims to promote sportsmanship and unity among the youth while paying tribute to the late Netom Sidisow for his contributions to the community.

According to the official fixture, the opening match will kick off on October 31, 2025, between Nyebin Sporting Club FC and Shusopululi FC at 9:00 AM. The league-stage matches will continue till November 8, 2025, followed by Quarter-Finals on November 9โ€“11, Semi-Finals on November 12, and the Grand Final scheduled for November 14, 2025.

The tournamentโ€™s objective is not only to celebrate the Nyethrii-Dow spirit but also to encourage local sporting talent and foster community harmony through football.

Maintenance work at the Bomdila General Ground is currently underway, with the project focusing primarily on laying turf across the playing field to enhance the quality and usability of the ground.

During a site visit to the ongoing maintenance work, our team interacted with the Vice President of the West Kameng District Football Association (WKDFA), who shared his views on the project. While he appreciated the efforts being made to improve the facility, he also expressed certain concerns regarding the available playing space.

According to him, the maintenance team has left out the corner areas to accommodate running tracks, which in turn has reduced the overall size of the football ground. He emphasized that this issue could affect the suitability of the field for standard football matches and urged the concerned authorities to reconsider the layout to ensure the ground remains regulation-sized.

The ongoing maintenance is part of a broader initiative to upgrade sports infrastructure in Bomdila and provide better facilities for athletes and sporting events in the district.

In adherence to the Arunachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj (Delimitation of Constituencies and Reservation of Seats for Women) Rules, 2002, the West Kameng District Administration has finalized the details of seats reserved for women representatives across all tiers of the Panchayati Raj system.

As per the mandated 33% reservation policy, one-third of the total seats at the Gram Panchayat, Anchal Samiti, and Zilla Parishad levels have been earmarked for women candidates. The move aims to ensure greater participation of women in grassroots governance and decision-making processes throughout the district.

The reservation list, prepared under the supervision of the District Panchayat Officer and concerned administrative authorities, marks a significant step toward strengthening womenโ€™s political representation and leadership in rural Arunachal Pradesh.

Officials stated that the allocation of seats has been done following proper rotation and delimitation norms, ensuring fair representation across constituencies. The final notification has been issued and made available for public reference to maintain transparency.

The 33% reservation policy continues to play a crucial role in empowering women, encouraging their engagement in local administration, and fostering inclusive governance at the community level in West Kameng.

Today on 28 October 2025 the District Election Officer (Panchayati Raj)all ADCs and EACs of West Kameng District conducted the draw of lots for 33% reservation of seats for women in the Zilla Parishad and Gram Panchayat constituencies today.

Out of 13 ZPM seats, 4 seats have been reserved for women through a free, fair, and transparent process.
The reserved constituencies are Dirang, Thembang, Thrizino, and Jirigaon.
