The 9th Annual Dolma Bum Prayer Ceremony concluded today with solemn devotion and spiritual grandeur at Yumchen Dolma Lhakhang, Lumla. The week-long sacred event, which began on October 22, drew hundreds of devotees from across the Mon region and beyond, all united in prayers for world peace, compassion, and universal well-being.
The final day was marked by special offerings, concluding rituals, and collective prayers led by senior monks of the monastery. The air was filled with the deep resonance of sacred chants and the rhythmic beating of ritual instruments, creating an atmosphere of profound reverence and serenity.
Monastery authorities expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants, donors, and volunteers for their unwavering support throughout the week. They emphasized that the success of this yearโs Dolma Bum Prayer reaffirms the communityโs deep-rooted faith and shared commitment to peace and harmony.
A senior monk remarked, โAs we complete this sacred cycle, may the merit of these prayers benefit all beings and bring enduring peace to the world.โ
The Dolma Bum traditionโwhere one hundred thousand recitations of the Dolma (Tara) prayers are performedโis considered a powerful act of compassion and healing. The conclusion of the ceremony symbolizes spiritual renewal and collective blessings for the entire region.
The event ended with the distribution of Tshog (blessed offerings) among the devotees, followed by a heartfelt closing dedication to peace, prosperity, and the protection of all sentient beings.
