💰 DON’T DELAY A WORKER’S WAGES
🌙 PROPHET MUHAMMAD (SAW) SAID:
“Give the worker his wages before his sweat dries.”
📖 Sunan Ibn Majah 2443
Imagine a worker spending hours under the hot sun…
His clothes become soaked with sweat.
His hands become tired.
His body becomes exhausted.
But behind that hard work may be a family waiting at home.
A mother waiting for food.
Children waiting for their needs.
Bills waiting to be paid.
A family depending on the money he earns through his honest work.
Islam teaches us that a worker’s effort is not something to take lightly.
🌿 THE WAGES OF A WORKER ARE A TRUST.
If you hire someone and benefit from their work, do not deliberately delay giving them what they have earned.
Do not make them repeatedly ask for their own money.
Do not take advantage of their financial situation.
Do not think that because you have power as an employer, you can ignore their rights.
Allah sees the sweat they shed.
Allah knows the effort they make.
And Allah knows when someone is treated unjustly.
💭 A worker may be poor, but his dignity is priceless.
Paying someone fairly and on time is not merely good business—it is part of justice and good character.
So if you have workers, employees, labourers, cleaners, drivers, helpers, or anyone working for you:
🤝 Respect their effort.
💰 Pay them what they are owed.
⏰ Do not delay their wages without a valid reason.
❤️ Treat them with dignity.
⚖️ Fear Allah regarding their rights.
Remember:
The money you hold back may be small to you, but it could be essential to someone else.
🤲 May Allah make us fair and trustworthy employers, protect us from ظلم and taking the rights of others, bless the earnings of every honest worker, and grant barakah in our halal income. Ameen.
