Kuhali Samanta (33 years) is battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML – Blood Cancer). She is currently undergoing treatment at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata.

Doctors have advised an urgent Bone Marrow Transplant. The only hope for survival.

💔 A Small Moment… A Big Strength

Today, our little Bihu (7 years old) gave her blood sample for HLA testing for her mother.

At first, she was scared… she cried.
But after it was done, she quietly said,
“It didn’t hurt.”

Then she said something that broke my heart…
She told me that she is ready to give her bone marrow for her mother…
and that she will come to the hospital too,
if only her mother could see her.

(Children below 12 are not allowed inside the patient ward… 😪)

She doesn’t understand everything.
But she understands one thing
she wants her mother back.

This fight is no longer just ours.
It is a little daughter’s fight to bring her mother home.

A Small Family’s Big Fight — Appeal to Save Tista’s Life
My wife Kuhali Samanta (Tista) is only 33 years old. She has recently been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a severe form of blood cancer. She is currently undergoing treatment at Tata Medical Center.
Doctors have advised that an urgent Bone Marrow Transplant is the only life-saving option. According to the hospital’s initial estimate, the total cost of the treatment is approximately ₹50 lakh.
For a simple middle-class family like ours, this amount is almost impossible to arrange. Yet we have started this fight with hope, because this is not only a fight for treatment — it is a fight to save a life and protect a family’s future.
How we are trying to arrange the funds
Possible support through hospital applications:
• Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund – approx ₹3 lakh (awaiting approval)
• Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, West Bengal – ₹1 lakh (sanctioned)
• Tata Trusts – approx ₹4 lakh
➡️ Total expected support: ₹8 lakh
Family Contribution
My late father’s small savings and the support of our relatives — brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts and family members — are being gathered with great effort.
➡️ We are trying to arrange around ₹12 lakh from family support.
