Spring arrives quietly in Odisha, but when it does, the land begins to glow. Mango trees burst into boula, the air fills with their sweet fragrance, and somewhere high in the canopy the Haladi Basanta sings like a flute. From village paths to temple towns, from the forests to the fields, everything seems touched by a soft golden light. This is the season when Odisha breathes poetry — when nature itself seems to whisper that beauty here is effortless.

And perhaps that is why being Odia feels special in moments like these. We belong to a land where the rhythm of seasons still shapes life, where culture and nature still walk together. In the scent of mango blossoms, in the call of the Haladi Basanta, and in the gentle warmth of the spring sun — there is a quiet reminder of how rich, graceful and beautiful Odisha truly is.

Can you believe Odisha has a ghati named after a Salman Khan movie? The story behind this is very touching.

📍 Tere Naam Ghati (ତେରେ ନାମ ଘାଟି, ଭଟଙ୍ଗପଦର, ରାୟଗଡା କଳାହାଣ୍ଡି ରାସ୍ତାରେ, କଳାହାଣ୍ଡି ଜିଲ୍ଲା), near Bhatangpadar, Kalahandi (On Raygada Kalahandi Road)

👉DETAILS: It’s probably the most interesting naming for a ghati (or ghat) in Odisha.

The roads of this ghat aren’t wide as most Odisha ghats are. They are also broken (not too bad though) at some places. But the surroundings are beautiful with hills and greenery on both sides. This has the vibes of a small village road. You can stop and enjoy the view of the valleys.

The road connects a few villages like musanal, to Lanjigarh and Bhawanipatna (centre head of Kalahandi dist). It’s also called the Musanal ghati by some.

✨There is a story behind the naming. Back in 2005 when the road was being constructed through the hill, a tractor driver, who was famous for this ‘Tere Naam’ hair-style lost his life during road construction. Since then, it’s named after him

🚐TRAVEL AND STAY🏨 : The ghat is pretty close to Bhawanipatna, about 20 kms from the town. The best place to stay is Bhawanipatna which has basic stay facilities.
