๐ CRICKET FACT OF THE DAY
๐คฏ A bowler dismissed every opposition batter in a Test match... yet didn't take all 20 wickets!
๐ฌ๐ง Jim Laker achieved one of cricket's greatest bowling feats against Australia at Old Trafford, Manchester, in 1956.
๐ Match Figures: 19/90
๐ฅ 1st Innings: 9/37
๐ฅ 2nd Innings: 10/53
That means Laker took 19 of Australia's 20 wickets in the match.
๐ก But here's the incredible part...
Across the two innings, Jim Laker dismissed all 11 Australian batters at least once.
The only wicket he didn't take was Colin McDonald, who was run out in Australia's first innings. Laker later dismissed McDonald in the second innings, meaning every Australian batter fell to him at least once during the match.
๐ To this day, Jim Laker remains the only bowler in Test cricket history to dismiss all 11 opposition batters across a single Test match.
A record of skill, endurance, and absolute bowling dominance that has stood for 70 years.
