Panangateeshwar temple holds Palmyra palm as thala maram.
Palmyra palms were once a predominant tree in this location. Its immense medical and spiritual value attracted saints (siddha) and poets. Along with this Palmyra is found as thala maram in nine more Shiva temples. The tree is also associated with many tutelary gods and folklore deities.

Narasinganur village is a green lush Village holding thousands of Palmyra palm. The residents of this village are mostly dependent on palmyra palm for their livelihood. At present 100+ families are engaged in palmyra based activities.
Tourists can witness the usage of Palmyra palm in vernacular architecture, traditional crafts, kitchen utensils, furniture and many more.
The mutualism between Palmyra climber and the tree grips the listener firmly. Along with these tales the traditional ecological knowledge of the climbers and their social conditions adds more value to the trail.

Panamalai is a hillock located near Senji. Tourists can witness pallava's mural art dating back to the 7th century. Historical insights of Panamalai include the association of Palmyra palm.
