Hey Y’all! I’m sure this photo will come as a shock for most, but I’ve been putting off a major arm surgery for many many years. Back in 2018 I got mentally prepared yet again to undergo my 3rd surgery to fix my arm ( from a previous car accident in India) and at that time I weighed 400+ pounds and my doctor was like “we are NOT doing your surgery at this weight” there was a huge chance I could die on the table due to my weight. So I had to set in motion a huge plan to get my mind, body and soul ready.
2018 I stopped Smoking
2019 I started my weight loss journey
2020-2021 I got my mental health sorted
2021-2022 I stabilised my weight ( I need to make sure I could keep the weight off if I had to take breaks from IF) I spoke with Gin and the community a lot about this.
I can't stress enough the importance of having an IF community. Huge thanks to the IF online community for all the help in this regard.
Which brings me to today. I checked into the Hospital on Dec 23rd , I had to basically have a complete health checkup, from head to toe. I’m proud to say that Almost everything came back within normal limits. I do have a Vitamin D deficiency and I had some lingering lung issues from heavy smoking. For my lungs they gave me some breathing treatments 2x a day. My lungs feel amazing! But other than that, I am in perfect health. A wee bit overweight still ☺️. I had my surgery on December 27th , and I’m still in the hospital recovering. Walking around, doing my arm exercises, listening to my body. I'll be spending NYE in the hospital. 🙂 Hopefully I’ll be discharged on Monday.
I don’t know what your motivation is with your weight loss goals, but mine was this. I’ve not been able to really use my arm in 10 years. For me my goal was not just my overall health but to also do this long awaited surgery. Even with all my health issues , I still kept going. Y’all ask me all the time, how do you stay motivated? Because I want the best quality of life for myself and I needed to do this surgery.
I have some big plans for 2023! So stay tuned.
Happy New Year to all of you! Thank you for being part of my community and Happy Fasting.
