KIM Assembly Ends as Ch. Ajang Khongsai Re-Elected President of the Kuki Apex Body

Former Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) President, Ch. Ajang Khongsai was re-elected as the President of the apex body of the Kuki's tribes in Manipur, as KIM's 31st General Assembly-cum-Election 2025 concluded successfully at Hengbung Village in Sadar Hills Kangpokpi District, reaffirming unity, transparency, and democratic strength within the community.

Held under a peaceful and participatory atmosphere, the assembly witnessed enthusiastic involvement from delegates representing all constituent groups, areas, and sections of the Kuki populace. The event marked a renewed collective commitment to community progress and organisational integrity.

The election process was conducted with full transparency and without any procedural hindrance. After the declaration of results, a special dedication prayer for the newly elected executive team was led by Rev. L. Singsit, Executive Member, KCLF following the Oath of Affirmation presided by the Election Returning Officer, Thangjang Haokip, who is also the Chairman of KIM Election Commission.

The newly elected office-bearers of Kuki Inpi Manipur are Ch. Ajang Khongsai (President); Henkhopao Haokip (Vice President); Paotinthang Lupheng (General Secretary); Lala Misao (Finance Secretary); and Janghaolun Haokip (Secretary, Information & Publicity).

The Kuki Women Organisation for Human Rights and Kuki Women Union presented a traditional shawl (Saipikhup) each to the newly elected leaders as a mark of congratulations and blessings.

KIM extended heartfelt gratitude to all delegates, observers, volunteers, and community members whose participation and support ensured the smooth conduct of the assembly.

The newly elected leaders pledged to uphold the aspirations of the Kuki people, serve with dedication, and work towards strengthening unity, harmony, and socio-political progress.

Noney MLA Dinganglung MLA has raised the issue of illegal immigrant and infiltration in Zeliangrong inhabited areas stating that the Zeliangrong community has been targeted because they are peace loving people.

The minister while speaking at an event in Tousem headquarter on ovember 24 said, “ the real issue we are facing is illegal immigrant and infiltration. Please go and see highway side in Kangpokpi, Dimasa Hasao in Assam and Athibung and Peren in Nagaland”.

A spiritually enriching Christian Book Fair, organized by Beautiful Books—the literature ministry of the Layman’s Evangelical Fellowship headquartered in Chennai—was inaugurated today at Parazeau Maranatha Academy, Kangpokpi. The event was formally opened by Rev. Paolenlal Singson, Pastor of Chongthu Baptist Church Kangpokpi, who cut the inaugural ribbon in the presence of church leaders, school authorities, and enthusiastic visitors.

Beautiful Books, known for reaching regions where Christian literature is scarce, has brought a carefully curated collection of Bibles and faith-based books to Kangpokpi. The fair will continue until Saturday, the 29th of this month, after which the team will carry the ministry to other locations.
