Radio Salesian 90.8 FM organized a special Nepali Poetry Writing Competition to mark World Environment Day 2025.
Mr. Kaykay Mukhia, a resident of Sunuwar Basti, Ringtong Tea Garden, emerged as the winner of the competition. A young and promising poet, Mr. Mukhia impressed the judges with his creative expression and environmental message.

RJ Pratap Rai, along with the entire Radio Salesian 90.8 FM team, congratulated the winner and presented him with a trophy and certificate in recognition of his achievement.

पर्यटनका लागि पर्यावरण बचाउने अभियान

सोनादा, 5 जून; वर्तमान ग्रामीण पर्यटनको फस्टिँदो अवस्थाबीच बेरोजगार युवाहरुले पर्यटनलाई व्यावसाय बनाउने जमर्को गरेका छन्। अप्पर सोनादा ग्राम पञ्चायत अन्तर्गत राजाहट्टा खासमलका बेरोजगार युवाहरूद्वारा नवगठित राजाहट्टा एक्सप्लोर ग्रुपले आफ्नो गाउँ आफै बनाउँ, `आफ्नो ठाउँ आफै चिनाउँ´ भन्ने नाराका साथ ग्रामीण पर्यटनमा अग्रसर भएका छन्। ग्रुपले यसको शुरुवात सामाजिक कार्यबाट गरेका छन्। पर्यटनको आत्मा नै पर्यावरण हो भन्ने धारणा राखेर ग्रुपले पहिलो कार्यक्रमको रुपमा आज विश्व पर्यावरण दिवसलाई रोज्यो।
प्रायः पाँच हप्तायता गाउँको मूलबाटो छेउछाउ बडदो झोंडी-जंगल फाँडफुड, सरसफाइ पछि आज विभिन्न फूल फुल्ने प्रजातिका विरुवाहरु रोपियो। राजाहट्टा एक्सप्लोर ग्रुपको तत्वावधानमा आयोजित विरुवा रोपनी कार्यक्रममा रेडियो सलेसियन 90.8 एफएमका कार्यक्रम निर्देशक समीर छेत्री, आरजेहरु क्रमैले मोजेस तामाङ, वाङ लामा अनि गरिमा (बन्दना) लोहागण लगायत राजाहट्टाका दुइवटै कस्तुरी अनि अन्नपूर्ण स्वनिर्भर समूहका सदस्यहरु पनि सहभागी बनेका थिए।
पहाडकै पहिलो जिरो वेस्ट भिलेजको उपमा प्राप्त राजाहट्टा गाउँले गाउँको स्वच्छतालाई जारी राख्ने सक्दो प्रयास गरिरहेकै छन् भने यसै अवधारणालाई आधार बनाएर नवगठित एक्सप्लोर ग्रुपले हाल गाउँ सरसफाइलाई जोर दिइरहेका छन्। ग्रुपको मूल लक्ष्य ग्रामीण पर्यटन थालनी गर्ने रहेको छ भने पर्यटन फस्टाउन साथै गाउँको छुट्टै पहिचान बनाउन पर्यावरण मूल कुरा रहेको ग्रुपको धारणा छ। प्राकृतिक संसाधन तथा पर्यावरण सन्तुलनकै बुत्तामा पर्यटनलाई अघि लैजाने ग्रुपका सदस्य प्रताप राईले बताए।
उनीअनुसार बरोजगारी समस्याले पलायन बनेपछि रित्तिन्दै गइरहेको गाउँको परिवेशलाई फेरि पुरानो लयमा फर्काइल्याउन अब बेरोजगार युवाहरुले संगठित भएर आफूसँगै गाउँको उन्नति गरेर लैजाने सोच राखेको छ। पुर्खाको पसिनाले सिचेको गाउँको भित्री सुन्दरतालाई तथा प्राकृतिक सौन्दर्यलाई नै आधार बनाएर अब गाउँमै पर्यटन व्यावसाय आरम्भ गर्ने भएको छ। पहिले गाउँलाई आफै बनाउने साथै चिनाउने काम गरेर दीर्घमियादी अवधारणाका साथ काम गर्ने ग्रुपले निधो गरेको छ।
उनले अझ बताएअनुसार ग्रुपले पर्यटनसँगै सामाजिक कार्य पनि गर्दै जाने तय गरेको छ। आधारिक रुपमा यसैको थालनी ग्रुपले पर्यावरण दिवसबाट गरिएको हो। यस अवसरमा विविध फुल्ने प्रजातिका विरुवाहरुमध्ये गुराँस, चाँप, अम्बक, आरुचा, एजिला, क्यामेलिया आदि रोपिएको साथै यसवर्षको नाराअनुसार प्लास्टिक प्रदूषण नियन्त्रण गर्न फ्याँकिएका प्लास्टिक संग्रह गरिएको उनले थप बताए।
