Building a successful long-term business requires deep focus and the ability to avoid unnecessary distractions. Staying too connected to the startup ecosystem—founders, VCs, and constant noise—can influence decisions in ways that may not align with your vision. Every business operates in a different domain, with unique challenges, timing, and market conditions. When founders start comparing growth or chasing valuations based on others’ journeys, they lose sight of the core problem they set out to solve. While sharing ideas is valuable, maintaining independence in thinking is crucial. Ultimately, sustainable growth and valuations should be outcomes of strong ex*****on, not the driving force behind it.

Zerodha to Bring US Stock Investing to India via GIFT City

Zerodha may soon allow its users to invest directly in US stocks through the GIFT IFSC platform, with the launch expected around April or May, according to executive Somnath Mukherjee. The initiative aims to give Indian retail investors easier access to global equities via the international financial hub at GIFT City.

Recent regulatory changes by the International Financial Services Centres Authority allow brokers to collaborate with global partners and offer overseas market access. This move could help investors diversify their portfolios beyond domestic markets while providing the necessary regulatory and operational support for investing in international equities.

📊 RBI Tightens Funding Rules for Stock Brokers

The Reserve Bank of India has introduced stricter norms for bank funding to stock brokers to reduce risks in the capital markets. Under the new rules, banks can lend to brokers only if the loans are fully backed by collateral such as cash or government securities. The guidelines will take effect from April 1, 2026.

The central bank has also restricted banks from funding brokers’ proprietary trading activities, except in limited cases. The move may increase funding costs for brokerage firms and could impact trading volumes in the short term, but it aims to strengthen financial stability and create a safer market environment.
