After the recent killing in Dehradun, a disturbing wave of racial abuse has once again targeted people from the Northeast. Reacting strongly, a Nagaland minister condemned the use of slurs like “Chinese” and “momos”, making it clear that such remarks are ignorant, racist, and unacceptable. He emphasized that people from the Northeast are Indians, with distinct identities, cultures, and histories, and should not be stereotyped based on appearance or food habits. The statement highlights a long-standing issue of racial discrimination faced by Northeastern communities and calls for respect, awareness, and accountability so that such prejudice does not continue unchecked
