The charges made by Satya Pal Malik, the former and last governor of Jammu and Kashmir, need to be verified, according to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. If Malik knew of any anomalies, he should have spoken up while in office, he added.
He said these things today at the India Today Karnataka Roundtable 2023.
There is nothing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has done that has to be kept secret. In response to a query about Malik's accusations, who had recently commented on the Pulwama terror attack in which 40 CRPF soldiers lost their lives, and papers pertaining to insurance and power projects, Shah stated that the topics shouldn't be discussed in a public forum. As the final Governor of Jammu and Kashmir before the state's special status was revoked and it was divided into the Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh, Malik had also voiced harsh criticisms of the BJP-led government in Delhi.
"Satya Pal Malik should have spoken up while he was in office if he had information of wrongdoing. Why is he suddenly asserting such things? Shah enquired.
