For us, because before we step foot in any market, we want to understand the full picture first.
So laptops open, chai in hand, we did what two corporate professionals naturally do, we built a framework. Top-down. Starting from the full market, all the way down to the one category that genuinely surprised us. 🧵

₹9.5L – 10L Crores. One of the largest consumer markets in the world. Still transforming.

𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝟮 — Women’s Apparel
41–48% of total apparel spend. Growing faster than the broader market. Fuelled by India’s rising working women demographic.

𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝟯 — Ethnic Wear
70–75% of a woman’s total apparel spend. A 7–8.5% CAGR projected over the next 5 years. This isn’t a trend — it’s deeply embedded consumer behaviour.

Welcome to Pulse & Persona.

We both have full-time corporate careers that we love. But like many of you, we’ve also had a burning desire and curiosity: “What does it actually take to build a brand from scratch?”

Instead of blindly launching a product on the side, we decided to do what corporate life has taught us best: Planning and Research. For the next 18–24 months, we are spending our weekends and evenings hitting the ground across India.

We’re moving past Google searches and diving straight into the wholesale markets, manufacturing units, and the real math behind the business.
