Yes, it can help to let go of misunderstandings and hurts in our relationships, for our own peace and, when it matters to us, for the peace of others too.

But each situation is different. So is the time each person needs to process what happened.

Let's not pressure ourselves or others to forgive, reconnect or "move on" before we're ready.

We can leave room for healing while respecting the boundaries we need along the way.

Little did I know that what a senior monk taught me about not kicking buckets profound lesson in relationships! would one day become a

And no... this has nothing to do with kicking the bucket

Yes, good relationships deserve intentional effort.

They need time, attention, understanding, and care from both sides. After all, relationships are a two-way street... one person can't keep managing the traffic forever!

But relationships are also shaped by the kind of person we become.

When we work on our attitude, patience, gratitude, and the way we respond to life, something interesting happens...

We become easier people to live with, work with, and perhaps even put up with!

Sometimes, improving our relationships isn't only about working on the relationship.

It's also about working on ourselves.

Who knew not kicking buckets could teach us so much?

Yes, there are times when someone else is responsible for the situation we find ourselves in, and we should certainly address it appropriately.

But most of the time, what disturbs us is not so much what others have done, but the stories our mind creates around what has happened.

When we step out of those imagined narratives and look at reality as objectively as we can, our emotions begin to settle, our thinking becomes clearer, and we are able to respond with greater wisdom rather than react impulsively.

Before reacting, ask yourself: Am I responding to reality, or to the story I've created about it?

Maturity and wisdom lie in knowing the difference between when to accept things and when to negotiate.

Accepting what cannot be changed brings peace. Negotiating what can be changed brings growth.

And somewhere between the two lies our resilience.....
