What happens when a company goes into insolvency… but its most valuable assets aren’t even part of the process?

That’s exactly the strange (and messy) situation is in right now.

On paper, the electric cab pioneer owns thousands of EVs and a proprietary tech platform.

In reality? Those are locked inside separate subsidiaries — and the creditors can’t just grab them.

The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) admitted BluSmart’s insolvency case on July 29, 2025, and since then, things have only gotten more complicated:

✔️ The 8,700-strong EV fleet? Mostly leased, and partly tied up in disputes.

✔️ The tech platform? Sitting in a subsidiary outside the main case.

✔️ Legal challenges? Several, including SEBI cases from 2023.

Experts say the only way forward is to pull the subsidiaries into the same resolution process — but that’s easier said than done under India’s insolvency laws.

So… can BluSmart’s green wheels keep rolling, or is this the end of the road?

Struggling with insolvency, BluSmart’s valuable EV fleet and tech assets are trapped in subsidiaries, complicating creditor recovery and leaving its future
