In photography, aesthetics is the philosophy of dealing with the nature and appreciation of beauty and art. The Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary explains aesthetics as “anything concerned with the beauty and art and the understanding of beautiful things.”

We, as photographers, work so hard to make images. But that’s not all, the whole affair of image making seems incomplete until and unless our images are reviewed and admired by others. But, the way people analyse and appreciate our works varies extensively with varied perceptions about what is considered as beautiful and the manifold perceptions towards the art as a whole. And this is where the matter of aesthetics comes.
